Car doesn't start, need help asap please - duffer?

To all, hi

My car has recently gone into a spray shop. It went in with a flat battery but I recieved a phone call today from the painter complaining that it wont start.

I thought it would be an easy fix cos it has happened before I either jump it or give the PTU a fiddle (calm down, you know what i mean) but NOTHING!!

The car has an imobilsier, which did not respond as i pressed the fob. I have no power to dials except hazards, heater dials on left and lights?

My question is could it be the imob? if so can i by-pass it? if not what else could it be?!? Never had any probs with the alarm b4..its an old clifford.

Trying not to pass judgement but Im hoping the guy hasn't pulled a fuse cos he kept goin on about his mate that do it..but for more £££..Is there any where to look for signs etc..

Any help would be great!

Cheers Gee

If you get no responce from the key fob then that would point to the immobiliser not disarming

I think your first job is to get a decent charged battery fitted and then start checking what is working, i.e. lights, exterior & interior plus hazards. All the stuff that should work with the ignition off. Then turn the ignition on and see what happens, don't try to start just power the circuit up. Then try wipers, horn, brake lights, fan blowers, check clock and gauges, if all working then engage the starter. If its your immobiliser surely at this point it should scream its head off. Turn off, re-arm, dis-arm and try again.

Don`t forget the battery in the fob!

If the battery on the car is fully charged and you've changed the battery in the fob, you also need to consider that the key fob may have gotten out of sinc with the alarm and may need re-setting, you will need to read the alarm manufacturers instruction book on how to re set it.

I had much the same problem after my car had been sitting a while without being started.
