Well i've started off by buying a sound car with a lot of potential but i need to make my mark on it otherwise it will always be Jim's car to me.

I know i never got very far with my last car but i decided moneywise this would be a better investment to get it to the show car i want.

It's still following the black top on candy purple base concept i designed but with a twist.

The bodykit that's on already is spot on, i'll just tweak it to fit a bit better and add the matching rear diffuser that's missing from the back.

The main amount of cash will go on the bodywork and the finish of the car. Candy Purple - Pearl Black base with a marbled pearlescent sweeping wave design in varying shades of purple.

Subtle but different.

- Fully adjustable Tein Suspension set up £1000+

- 19" Vortex Wheels £1200

- Bomex Bonneville Rear Diffuser (already have it)

- Full respray in Candy Purple and Pearlescent Black with Unique Design Airbrushed into the sides (budgeting about 4-5k)

- Carbon Bonnet (£450)

- Replacement lightened Body Panels (namely doors, targas and boot lid) (at some stage)

And with the help of forza and my younger bro i've got a few concepts (as close as you can get with forza and the parts they have)

There are better Coilover suspension setups than the Teins for the money. Teins are underservadly "fashionable". The flex's which I imagine your thinking of aren't Monotube for a start, and dont have a good reputation for build quality or design.

For example - The SPL Coilovers are very well regarded with proven competition history, a montube design and cheaper than the Teins!

Im looking to go for a rear diffuser for mine, any pics and where did you get from ?

Doors - Dont do it! There is no side impact bars for the zed...its dangerous and not suitable for the road - if you got hit from the side you would die! You would need a FULL roll cage if you did this. The only company who currently market CF Z32 doors will not even sell it for road use.

Targas Yep, good idea.

Bootlid Some good weight savings, ideally with a perspex rear screen too. One thing to bear in mind though is that the zed's weight distribution is heavier on the front so your losing weight from the wrong end.

Weight saving is a good idea but you must keep it balanced. Its quite easy to lose weight from the zed rear end, but harder to do from the front.

looks great mate! Wish I had the green to make mine look as good!

A question tho....the black inserts/ducts you have in place of the side lights (UK spec?)...do they have a function and where/how did you get them? I've seem then only once before and would love to get my hands on something very similar!

Cheers

I think it will look awesome buddy, although i think 18"s would be better??

Might be better with the torque of the N/A and it also won't look like a rollerskate :x:

sumshiftyguy: zed centre sell them i think? (http://www.zcentre.co.uk) they're only really any use if you flow them to the intercoolers on a turbo but as mine is an NA there won't really be much point.

Thanks for the advise Legrath, the door lightening is something i knew wasn't practical or legal for the UK and as you say a roll cage would be needed to be fitted. The boot there must be a way around but as you say the front end weighs the most and as far as i know everything you can remove from the front end has gone already.

With regards to the suspension, tein is the first name that comes to mind and from what i've heard they aren't the best. I've looked around a little bit at suspension but i'll be going to a specialist who offers the whole package where they will choose what will suit the car best and be able to set it up properly.

I really want to do this properly, i don't see the point in a car that looks good but doesn't handle, i want it light at possible but with a compromise between the way it looks and the way it handles.

I love the look of black over purple mate, but the best thing in that pic is me

If you get it right Nick, and I'm sure you will, that will look amazing.

With regards to suspension set up, do your homework and get it right or you will spoil the car, not looks but drivability, you don't need rock hard to make it handle.

Good luck mate, not that you need it.
