Hi folks

using the z32 power train in a ford anglia so don't have zx experience.

looking to buy a new oil cooler to fit in the space I've got available and prsume it's a case of connecting the two hoses from the oil filter housing to an oil cooler as the supply and return.

trouble is the new radiator I have purchased has two small connections mid way up on passenger side which I'm told are for the oil cooler. does this mean the oil cooler is cooled by engine coolant or should I blank them off and stick to the air cooled method

many thanks

Paul

sounds like an auto import rad you got there mate and the auto box oil gets cooled through those connection, but most people get another cooler and do away with that small oil tank.

As above if the rad is a standard TT rad with the intergrated cooler this was for the auto box and wouldn't be a good idea to run the engine oil cooling through it. If it's a Maculack 60mm deep core ally racing rade with intergrated oil cooler then this will do the trick very nicely thank you.

You also talk about hoses from the oil filter housing?? This isn't standard on the 300zx and most of these are sandwich plates which are actually for oil presure and temp sensors for gauges and not feed and returns. So you need to find out wether it it is a proper take off plate or just a gauge sandwhich plate. I have a remote filter plate on my TT which allows the 2 directional flow.

Mocal and pace among other do the sandwich plates with 2 way flow for a cooler. If you take it off and post a pic or two of it I'll be able to tell you if it's a cooler feed and return or just a Gauge sensor plate.
