Hi guy's I've had a quick search on here, but can't find it.

I know nothing about this, so bear with me please..

I'm looking for a guide to fitting/installing hardpipe mounted BOV's (the BOV's are already mounted on the pipes).. I've found the guide for fitting the recirc replacement type BOV, but not the hardpipe mounted type.. For example, where do the vacuum pipes off the BOV'S go to?.. And do I need to remove the stock recircs etc.??

Thanks for any advice on this :)

Hi again mate :).

Here is one of the places you can connect your new bov hose too, This is where i had Mine connected too.

Passenger Side:

Driver Side:

In regards to removing the recircs or not.. I left mine on but removed the front big pipe (easiest pipe to get too) and blocked it off. I think i used a cap from a bottle of water or something along the lines of that and wrapped a tie wrap around which did the job ok :).

I also bunged up the vacuum hose which was feeding the top of the recirc valve, i crnt remember what i used but anything small enough to put in the pipe and wrap a tie wrap around im sure will do the job nicely.

Hope this helps mate

Hi Rob..

Why does my set-up look different to your pictures.. ie location of the vacuum pipes off the balance bar (drivers side), and passenger side location

Thumbnails attached of my engine bay..

You've really stumbled me on asking that question mate.. I really have no idea. Have u changed the balance bar at any point since you've had the car? And why dont you have a vaccum line on the plenum  ?

The only thing i can really think of is to find another vaccum line in the engine bay and 'T' Peice the BOV vaccum line into it.

Il have a look around the forum and see what i can find mate.

Regards

Rob

I don't know if it makes a difference that mine is a UK Twin Turbo ?

I don't believe the balance bar has been changed

How strange.. LOL :wack:

As said bud, just use an original line and tee it!-just need a vac source :)

Is that as easy as it sounds?

Where might some other vac lines be ?

.

.

ian. the reason it looks different is because robs was converted from auto to manual, the same as mine. on a manual, you have the tube connected on the drivers side of the balance bar. on an auto, theres the silver 3 way connector, but no pipe on balance bar, which you can see in the top set of pics. as manta says, drivers bov connects to the drivers side of balance bar and the passenger side connects to where the blue pipe is on the plenum. if you can understand all that dribble. lmao

Oh right.. It's a bit clearer now.. Thanks guy's.

I'm just a bit bothered about pulling pipes off, and connecting up pipework, without definately knowing I'm pulling the correct pipes off.. Any pics anyone? (in other words, an idiots guide.. LOL) :wack:

Paul.. I take it Rob's picture of the passenger side pipe on the side of the plenum is still the correct location ?

Thanks!!

Paul..

Is it likely to be this pipe coming off the balance bar (blue arrow) for the drivers side ?.. It's a bit hard to see, but there is another pipe there... Actually, in the same place as Rob's... LOL :wack:

Thanks!!

ian. i will take some pics of mine for you tomorrow. it will probably be easier to show you which pipes go to the recircs. i cut my recirc pipes instead to fit mine.
