Driving up to blackpool at weekend from nottingham in the Zed. 121 miles apparently. Anyone know roughly how much it will cost each way in fuel on a 1992 Jap Import N/A?

You 'should' get 30+ mpg at a steady speed.

When i bought my car i drove it back from swindon and i got 33mpg at a steady 80mph and mine is a 1992 jap tt auto - NEVER done anywhere near that since though!

My dad has a n/a and he worked out he got 27mpg over 1000 miles of every kind of driving.

Thats not bad,

I ask as in mine, I only seem to get 60KM for £10 with all town driving and lots of stop starting!

You wanna think yourself lucky, i get a lot less than that, however i don't drive 'conservatively' if you know what i mean. lol ;)

and there was me thinking i was using way too much fuel! thats normal then!?

well I know if I drive steady I get a return of 30mpg but when I drive it like I want to I get 160 miles to a tank

And I will agree £40 should cover trip from nottingham to blackpool as I have been doing 143 miles a night between nottingham and leeds and it cost me £24.00 i fuel at a steady 65/70

Yeah, i think it is :)

I only get 150 to a tank when i drive it likes its supposed to be driven. lol You have to drive like a granny to get good mpg, but heh if you are like me i did'nt buy a zed for the mpg. lol

ZX-EYES if you use the 5th gear you will get the extra 10 miles lol

I only have 4 automatic ones. LOL

Like any car: lots of low gear work small mpg; High revs high speed low mpg.

I find keeping it under 3.5k revs gives ok mpg.but never much more 30.

15 in town.

30 mpg on the motorway how!

i got 17 last time i drove down to the pod on the m1!

I get bad fuel consumption, but not that bad! lol

On the motorway it is reletively easy to get the mpg upto about 25+.

its all down to how you pull of, change gear and slow down. All these are factors in good mpg

Off topic. Is your 300 a black t-bar with alloys and aftermarket rear lights??

mpg for me is about £45 to 100 miles on the b roads :wack:

so my fuel consumption is relatively normal then!

Yep, very typical, mine is a TT and typicaly i'll get 180 - 200 miles per tank, but most of that is town driving, 300+ miiles is typical of motorway cruising with

Depends how many ponnies you have under the bonnet.

lol, i might get mid 20's from mine on the motorway, but i dont think the chipped ecu in mine does it any favors...

In my tt I do about 100 miles ish on £25 of shell fuel, steady and hard driving, not alot really! but mine drinks more on motorways less on A roads.. But at around 150 mph she tends to drink a bit more!!!!
