Custom trim seats/interior

Hi guys. I've seen on a few of the rides in here that you can get dash "trim" kits and seat cover kits. Has anyone got these and if so, how difficult did you find them to fit? Also, what was the approx cost. I'm ok with a screwdriver, but do they need sewing or anything else to fit..?

Am looking at replacing my old (dead) z, and want to personalise it a bit, so any pointers would be helpfull...

Cheers

Hiya Tony, i bought my leather seats from a guy in Scotland, he is a re-trimmer and he does 300zx seats on an exchange basis, he told me it took him about 12 - 14 hours to re-trim the seats with the new leather covers (proper job though - look at my ride).

Personally i would not like to have done it myself! Depends how much patience you have and how long you can do without the car as once the drivers seats out it will take time to trim.

He charged me £375 for two tone leather seats and then i had to pay the petrol to get up to him (although he did say that was a fantastic price).

As for the dash trim kit i have not had that done as the guy said it took too long and was too messy with glue etc... I will do it if he one day decides he'll do it for me. He said that took him a further 14 hours to do.

Anyway bud i will give you his email address if you want it and you can contact him, let me know.

From your ride section, it looks like its the full 2+2. cool. If you have his email, could you pass it on, I'll give him a go.

Are you a sub'd member - can i PM it to you? Also just to let you know £375 was a steal - you might have to negotiate with him to get them for that price. lol

But he tried to sell me some for my dads car - so i'm sure he'll like some business coming his way. :)

Was the £375 just for the front seats or for full 2+2?

Yeah it was for 2 front seats and the back seats. :)

Blimmey, thats a great price.

You could also contact paul at SWZ who aranged for mine to be done and then fitted them.

Have a look in my rides if you want to see pics. Also had the door cards etc trimmed.

Do you know how much it would be for my other trim to be done it either black or red (same red as seats)?

Also how does it have to be done, is it an exchange basis or do i have to leave my car with someone?

Sorry couldn't tell you how much, you will have to contact Paul about that. Mine was done on an exchange basis. I basically turned up and paul swapped all the trim and seats for me.

Have a look at this thread with small video.
