As the title says is a ECU chip needed to run higher than stock boost with boost controller ?

 

Z-Tech tell it ain't.

 

Anyone ?

It's possible to run about to about 12psi without a remapped ECU, but it's more risky than not having it done. You will need to listen out for detonation, especially on warm days.

Yep, you only looking at around £100 for the benefit of Improved Fueling and timing maps, increased rev limiter, derestricted speed limiter. It will be safer and faster with a Chipped ECU.

yeah you can fit it yourself if your ecu has been socketed

JD will talk to you about what your looking for too, I think he will anyway, and then you get the right one for you.

Great for overtakes on the M25 driving home :)

 

Will let u know what happens when and if I ever get the boost controller working and the boost up to 14psi.

About the Lambda or O2 sensor u found that wasn't working.....

 

I got Z-Tech to replace the Lambda sensor today, they did it quick so it didn't cost too much and I didn't have the special tool to remove the old / broken one but they did. The old one was seized into the manifold but one of the Z-Tech guys managed to get it out luckily.

 

So with two functioning Lambda's I can start to think about the other things that need sorting.
