Ok I live in London and that is an immediate conflict with owning a 300!

But have notced that when poodling along between 1500-2000rpm the engine doesn't really like it, anyone else having this experience?

Everything else on the engine is fine as much as I can ascertain ;)

Some people have upgraded their recirc valves on the sxoc and notice that this has gone (ok different engine), and I am wondering that maybe the nearly fully closed throttle at low speeds is causing this problem?

Not a technical answer but, I always leave in 3rd unless Im going downhill at 35 and above then I put into 4th. So in otherwords I agree with you.

Mine is fine. Don't think it's ever run better since I removed the plenum, had all the injectors cleaned and replaced all the electrical connections.
