I only went out for a spin and came back with a Zed - what's happening to me??

It's not my fault - I have been a Ford Capri person for 20 years. Never a Jap car - then this mate of mine went and sold his Capri 280 and got a Zed.

Huh! I said. He'll be back for another 280. Then I saw his Zed and the doubts started coming thick and fast. No problem says I - this is something I can handle. Won't get to me I thought.

So I find myself Googling 300zx instead of Capri - and all these visions appeared and forums and it all got too much.

I even joined this forum, just browsing you understand. I mean who wants to be a member of the Worlds Biggest Youth Club I told myself. It's not decent, it's not right. Is it?

So there it was - a 1994, 55k miler - silver - with 19's on - tinted glass and black leather - nothing wrong with 'loooking' is there?

Well, a spin in it won't hurt anyone either?

Hmm, no bad points - very driveable, very reflective in the windows in town - maybe it's worth it. Afterall it is a £35,000 car at some point in the distant past. A lot of bang for little buck. No grief from the wife. It's a sign, it's a sign says I.

Bottom line - collecting it in a week or so and looking foward to the drive back down the M6 (well not really but there's no other option than the M6).

Piccies to follow.

Any tips on good insurers please?

How mad am I? :confused:PICS ADDED see page 4

(PIC REMOVED)

The only problem with the pic of the Z181 car is that it's owned by a friend of mine who took that pic about June of this year - I'm not sure about the copyright issue? I'll find out for you.

Still, you're not a million miles off what mine will be when finished. I'll put some pics up when done - only been 3 years so far......................

Ford 302 -with C4 Auto or 4 speed top loader. Well, the race cars didn't use auto and their engines weren't exactly standard. But the first race car the A2 car in SA - won everything in sight the first year so the officials banned it - nice eh?

Hi all,

Yep it's my picture and it's copyrighted. Please remove it from your posts.

I'm quite happy for you to link to my site instead.

And you are all of course most welcome to come and have a look at the Capri galleries on my Perana site:

http://www.perana.org/

John

Well I take back what I said about the crapi, I give myself a slap and rethink on fords.

Rethink done fords are still poo, except the ones from other countries maybe oh and some of the new ones are quite good as well and I would love a MK11 cortina or a V8 Pilot

Damn I must go and see my therapist again

I've always been a fan of the Crapi.

had one when I was 17, 1.6 GL. Well, that's what the insurance thought anyway

Wasn't long before my mate broke his 2.8 Granada and thus the transformation began :)

When I hear "Capri" I always think of the Mk2/Mk3 which I loathe. They had a dodgy image while I was growing up.

Mk1 capri is fairly  though !

Now how can I remove the same piccie that appeared in my reply post please? cheers Chris

ps John at ZAHistorics is a good bloke - I reckon he would have let us use the pic if we'd asked or at least put a link to his site - anyway no harm done.

Stick to a good semi-synth 10-40w unless engine has been fully rebuilt, has ran on fully synth since then and is running a LOT more power then standard.
