Win2000 is an evolution of Windows NT. Windows ME is a f***ed up piece of crap based on Windows 98

Use XP Pro or 98SE

Millenium is pure evil.

No problems at all.

I use NTL and all works fine.

The shutdown problem is more likely to be due to a program running in memeory that is not responding to the shutdown command so Windows is waiting an age for it to close.

I have a similar rig- ur shutdown problems are perfectly normal. XP was designed to wait 20secs when shutting down to give everything a chance to close. U can speed it up if u wish their is a registry hack around then net sumwhere. Also they done this is mind because theoretically u wud only need to shutdown ur pc when finished using for the day as XP is so stable.

hope this helps.

My XP profesional takes ages to shutdown frown.gif, I'm on Blueyonder broadband biggrin.gif.

Looks like a format and reinstall for me then frown.gif.

I only use the brakes so I can accelerate all over again.

Shutdown problems can be caused by non-Micro$haft applications that don't respond properly to the OS. This is probably His Billness's plan for making you buy only his s/w ! mad.gif
