i heard there was 2 z32s in a garage near me for sale, just for curiosity i went to have a look, i was driving a charade, i was looking around one of the cars when mr car salesman comes over, conversation as follows

me: how much are looking for this car

him for yourself

me no, a friend, can you tell me about it

him 1993, japspec, manual, tt

me looking around car, which is locked, are you sure its a tt as there is no boost gauge in the clocks

him we dont modify cars here, you can fit a boost gauge if you want one

me but a psi gauge came as standard on the turbo car

him listen dont tell me anything about these cars ive had 4 tt and none of them had a boost gauge, have you seen one before

me yes i have one and it has a gauge

him must have benn fitted aftermarket, is it long in from japan

me its wasnt from japan its a uk one

him ohhh that explains it yours its not a real Fairlady but the cheaper 300zx, this is one of the RARE jap GENUIENE FAIRLADYS see it says it on the boot, no comparision and its even rarer with a targa roof

me ok, can you get the keys so i can have a look inside and at the engine

him dont know where they are, and dont think im selling it anyway theres a whine in the gearbox,

me thanks it was advertised at 10,950 euro, black original wheels and exhaust, cloth interior paintwork not great, the other was a black na auto 8,950 euro

Ha Ha, plonker! They seem to assume because they know nothing about

these cars, then no-one else will either.

Although iirc, the later specs did not have a boost gauge?

I have all the rare bits you can't find :tongue:

My 95 Jap Spec doesn't have one....

What an idoit Salesmen. This is why i didnt go to a dealership to get my zed i brought mine from a importer with zed experience. Im sure the 93s did come with boost gauges from what ive read on these forums and the comment yours is not a real fairlady  what a dick doesnt matter if its a UK US Aus Spec or JapSpec they are all fairladys just named differently. I thought Fairlady was the Jap name for these cars whereas every else it was 300zx. Someone should go down there with a 93 model brouchure and show him exactly what the 93s came with.

Hi,

It's always possible that the car has had some later dials fitted or even NA clocks fitted?

If you can't open the bonnet or doors then have a look at the front bumper to see if there's any intercoolers there.

You obviously wouldn't want to buy a car from such a Garage though anyway!

the guy i bought my car from admitted form the start he knew nothing about the car, its history or specs for them, i appreciated his honesty and bought the car.

I would sooner someone admit ignorance than try and sound impressive by spouting a complete load of dribble going fo the hard sell.

I bet his didn't have the optional extra "welded on wheels" that you have either :wack: :p

lol I have to go up and meet this guy for myself. Matter of fact the next Ireland meet should be right outside his garage

Did you look at the front for the intakes? If there weren't any he probably would've told you some more fairy stories  what an absolute dickhead. :smash:
