Hi folks

I'm using the powertrain of the 300zx in my project and have aquired a new engine wiring harness for the job. I can see where most plugs go as they only fit in certain plugs etc but I would dearly like to view under the bonnet of a ttzx just for comparison/reference.

My aim is to simply take pictures, no intrusive work.

I wonder if any member lives near richmond North yorkshire or can recomend somewhere to go. or even a wiring loom diagram for the engine harness.

either would be a great help.

thanks to any that can offer advice.

cheers

Paul :)

I will speak to MAC1 and let you know bud, although, I must warn you that his engine isn't exactly standard! :x

mac's engine would be useless as he had stripped most original wiring off and running aftermarket management system. you really need a standard tt or search here for engine by numbers.

You can try the online manual.

It should have the wiring diags in it that you need.

Let me know if not and I will try and scan the ones in the manual I have.

Good luck with it.

I would be still keen to have a look at MAc's but if anyone else could help I would be just as pleased.

right now I have the engine and box sat in situ and can see lots of plug and play items everywhere. I'm not familiar with this engine so you can imagine how much it helps to see something working as it should.

I did consider buying a working motor to dismantle but do not have the space to both build and strip.

I have attached an image of what my loom looks like straight from the shop

is where I got it. v quick delivery. cost I thinks was £220 which considering the time it would take to make and material costs I thought was fair. I will need to make my own car harness (something I've done before) and it does take a bit of time.

very bling bling pictures but I'm afraid I need to reference what plud goes where which I can't tell from your pics unfortunatly. hopefully someone will email me soon and sort me out.

More than welcome to come down to me mate, could tell you were they go but like you say, easier to see it! :)

This might be of some help,. I think I've got most of them, any missed should be obvious once you have loom in place.

Wow I'm bowled over by such efforts and have made an effort to rest loom over engine and see where bits go when I noticed my 1st glitch.

on the coil pack connectors there is only two which have number bands around them to what I logically think is the relevant cylinder order. Can anyone quickly tell me if it is crucial theses connect to the right cylinder for firing order as I'm aware some modern ecu systems run a wasted spark system.

I don't personally think they would run this system as it means many other cylinders are getting spark thats not needed but you never know.

cheers

Yes, they must be connected to the correct cylinders, but when you lay out the loom with the two labeled connectors in place the others will all sit in the correct place, they will only really reach the correct cylinders.
