They won't go bust ... all they did was borrow additional funds from the BoE (who is making funds available to all other lenders as well).

Given that the NR share price has fallen sharply today I would imagine a takeover bid will be likely in the not too distant future.

it wont go bust, banks lending money to other banks is at an all time low and has been for some years now, we are nowhere near the state it was in-in the 70's, bit like the mortgage rate really, we are all pissed off at the rates, but its the lowest its been for umpteen years, still saying that i would like cheaper mortgages lol, just another ploy to slow down the econonmy and lending if you ask me

No the mortgages will be sold on by the receivers. Happened with my current mortgage providers 3 times now

No way will they go bust. They have heaps of assets, just not much cash at the moment.

Sounds like Jordan

Jordan has loads of cash, just not much intelligence or class, she sure isnt lacking in the cash dept

How did I know you'd reply to that  PMSL ;)

Hope they do go bust.

Stung me for a lot of money, a few years ago.

I signed up with them requesting a loan, that i could repay very quickly, if needed.

Instead of what i wanted, They charged me 100% of the interest, to get out of loan.Bloody expensive lesson in 'checking the finer than fine small print', and not trusting an 'advisor'

I wouldn't say she's stupid. Not classy either though - about as far from it as is possible!

Well I hope they don't go bust - they have a heap of my savings. Still, look on the bright side, if they do then they'll be selling your houses to give me my money back ! LOL :D

Government guarantees savings up to £35K IIRC.

Only question in my mind - is it worth buying shares in them now??? Might make a killing as the price is real low.

Now there's a thought!!!!! What a great use of club funds ;)

NR have assets of 200+ billion but no cash flow to pay their wages and are a very solvent comapany. If any of you do have spare change now is a good time to buy some shares ;)

You could buy me some for my birthday ;)

A couple of years ago a mate of mine told me he was going to buy GEC shares because they had collapsed to 12p and couldn't possibly go any lower. I reminded him that 10p was lower than 12p. Anyway, they did go lower and then I think they disappeared altogether. Not saying this will happen to NR of course, but I'd wait until the recovery starts before buying shares.

Investors only get 100% of first £2000, then 90% upto £35k, after that. the remainder if your lucky.

I would take mine out if I had Any and spread it around. only 2k gauranteed!

They still have to pay Bof E back at some point!
