What mods have you got? Sorry if this has been posted before...

no worries.new since off the road *

front mount intercooler*

twin air filters*

de-cat

koyo rad*

hardpipe kit/samcos

apexi avc-r boost controller 14/15 psi*

ecu chip (cecil sport)*

Well if you're still running stock turbos then you *should* be ok on stock internals for now. How many miles are on the engine? Push it too far and you risk cracking the ring lands on the pistons. Don't go any higher than 17psi on stock turbos...

well im on around 70 ish mark now! with regular oil changes. ive always had the boost set at 14 psi on manual bleed valves before no more than that so hopefully ill be ok then :)

is there any other problems i should be worring about with these mods?

regards dan

Auto or manual?

Auto or manual?
gd old manual ive located the oil cooler to a better place now with air ducts since installing the front mount intercooler.is that enough?

Best place is where the stock ICs go :)

You'll be needing an uprated clutch if you don't already have one ;)

yea exactly where i put it perfect fit :) but its mounted a bit higher than norm because of the intercooler pipes. im hoping this will be ok its about 5-6 inches higher than the norm position! think i might of done a wrong thing and bought a 6 puck paddle clutch.still havent got round to getting it fitted yet with various other bits lol

You may as well fit a switch instead of a clutch pedal lol.

As long as there is ducting the cooler should be fine :)

Cheers,

Andy

great cant wait lol

thanx for your help :)

You could always sell it and go for the RPS street max organic ;)

And no worries :)

Nismo 555s will fit straight in to your fuel rail. You won't have any noticable problems unless you're running right on the limit of the 555s. The stock rail suffers with a problem of less fuel being delivered to the no 6 injector, however, unless you're running right on the limit this won't be an issue...

Just buy the pre '94 nismo 555s and be done with it. Don't forget the chip so it fuels correctly...

Andy,

I've seen this said a few times recently: that the OEM rail on pre-94 has a fuelling problem to number 6. Can you explain why? Surely the fuel pressure is uniform in the entire rail? i.e. hydraulic pressure will always remain the same throughout a liquid (where depth of the fluid (read gravity) isn't taken into consideration).

The flow rate will be restricted by the narrowest point in the rail - which is where the pipe-work joins the rubber hoses.

??

Si.

Good question Si! To be honest I don't really know mate :( Number 6 is the last injector to be fed though so presumably as you're reaching the flow limit the pressure drop is significant enough to affect flow by the time it gets to the final injector....

this is what i've been thinkin about lately. I'm about to get my car back with 555's in and was planning to run them close to the max but should i of got an after market rail i'm wondering

I am not familiar with this area at all, but could an uprated regulator give a bit more pressure and so lessen the effect on number 6?

FPR is on my list next, i've heard this come up from time to time. Dont want more gauges but a FPR would be handy aswell probably abit hard to look at it at the right time drivin on the limits as you need your eyes straight in front!

Be good to have a bulb that lights up if the pressure drops so you can just catch it in the corner of your eye but i wont have a clue if that was possible or not.

i dont think its as much to do with pressure loss but also fuel temp, by the time its gone round the rail the temp will have increased massively so i would guess its either just the increased temp of the fuel or the temp effects the fuel pressure?
