Gardeners' Anonymous

Recommended Posts

I haven't seen any of you at the local GA(note 1) meetings but I am sure that some of us forum members are also members of GA. To them I offer this tip.

When up to your neck in soggy ditches overgrown with nettles and thistles, it is quite in order to get half-way through and then break the strimmer. This happened yesterday and I was then allowed to take the missus down the pub. Which is why I didn't post the tip yesterday. smile.gif

(note 1: Gardeners' Anonymous - an organisation dedicated to people who realise gardening is a problem for them and their families, who want to do something about it and are motivated enough to admit their shame in public. As well as the weekly meetings held in licensed establishments throughout spring and summer weekends, GA also offers a dedicated helpline and mentor programme.

When paid-up members get the urge to garden, they can ring the helpline for support to overcome this temptation. If more help is needed, your mentor and a group of supporters will come round to your home and drink beer with you until the urge to garden goes away.)
