Best roads in UK for 300ZX ?

Had this great idea for a subject - the A50 to Nottingham is good for high speed -very straight and good surfaces - but watch out for unmarked police cars !

According to the news. Police can catch you in an unmarked police car for speeding.

Some European law.

I know. Therefore, I won't be doing 130 on that road again in a hurry !!

Besides for speed, we could talk about nice roads for scenery or any reason...I should goto bed I'm spending far too much time her !!

Maybe this wasn't a good subject....

I live east of York in the middle of nowhere really (Beverley). There are loads of roads out here which are great for the Zed (or any other fast car/bike). At weekends a lot of bikes are racing along these country roads, also see alot of scoobys. These country roads cannot be monitored by the law, as they are not wide enough to allow them to pull you over. I am awaiting the return of me zed, so i can chase some of these race bikers and scooby drivers. Good thing is i think i am the only zed in the area, so no competition biggrin.gif.

We used to live in southampton and the roads there are bollox compared to up here fro driving, although there are some. Trouble is its got too populated down south.

I live in Southampton and totally agree with you on the roads. There are one or two roads that are ok but nothing worth writing about.

not a lot at all round here in wolverhampton or the midlands in general. Lots of very fast roads, but they all have a gatso every 1/4 mile along them (no thats not an exageration!)

I hear you tooley.

Loads of light to piss cars off and loads of round-a-bouts which are loads of fun. National Speed limit and no camera. HEHEHEHEHEHE

One of the advantages of living in Scotland, is we got the best roads for every car & bike on the road.

We hardly got any speed cameras and smaller budgets for traffic cops.

For the 300, we got the A68 and A7 (Edinburgh to Galashields and Hawick), with Long corners and lovely long straights. The M9, prob the quietest main motorway in the UK, no cops (marked or unmarked) at all. Huge empty straights, that you can hit 160+ without running out of straight.

The A9 is perfect for 'weaving' through traffic (I'm no longer envious of scoobies), at silly speeds.

The final one is the road to Fort William, its the where all the bikers go. Beautiful scenery and great for 120+ all the way.

I think I have been down that Forte William road. Went on a holiday with my dad on his BMW motor bike. Nice rides up there. Plus my dad used to race bikes and is good round the corners where most of the fun is to be made. biggrin.gif
