HORRAY!!! - Car got fired up this afternoon - started first time - after total rebuild, etc etc....(after 11 months)

Got 555's and JWT ECU - BUT..... its running well rich - what can I check to make sure everything is connected up correctly?

Aren't the O2 sensor supposed to sort this out?

Regards

I dont know. But I think I am running rich. Besides slightly low MPG, I clean my exhaust pipes and within 20 mins of driving, its completley covered in soot again.

So Im interested in this too.

Stuart

Yep mine too I reckon, exactly the same thing Stu. Mine spat shite out on Saturday all over my nice new rear underskirt. Cleaned it on Monday but the zorsts are still sooty and sweep!!!

Gonna have a look on me Techtom this weekend and see if my O2 sensors are showing signs of playing up.

The JWT runs rich from them directly. I think they run a bit richer as its a safty devise, plus of course they set it up on US fuel which has different ratings to the KAK here.

From experience it seems the JWT chip does over fuel. Steve E's car is over fuelling, since his complete rebuild and mods, and he has the JWT chip as well.

Suggest getting you car to a engine mapper.

AMD in Oxfordshire, or RaceLogic recommend Power Engineering.

If you want the best then Power Plus in Belgium. www.power-plus.be

Just got into work - and read all the above responses - seems i must have struck a common chord here. Stuart, if your car is in standard guise under the bonnet - then sounds like the air filter is clagged up - but from previous posts you seem to stay of top of things like that - so maybe it's something else.... anyway I'm waffling - still got a massive grin on my face from going for another burn this morning - man those turbos pull like nothing i've ever felt before - definitly worth the wait - its like owning a new car again.

Im waiting for an Apexi induction from Smithy at the moment, but he hasnt got back to me.

Ordered a fuel filter too. That should be in now. I better go get it later too.

Stuart

WillyEd, what turbos have you fitted and what boost you running it on the EVC? Did you go for JWT 555 injectors? SOunds like you are setup similar to mine was.

jv,

mods:

555 injectors

JWT ECU

no CATS

HKS filter

HKS Intercoolers

Turbo Technics Stage ii blowers

now..... most of the smoke seems to be when I blip the throttle - which is esp. noticable when the cars idling, or when I put my foot down, but before the turbos wind up properly.

Any help in your diagnosis?

Cheers
