My daughter is fast approaching the 9kg limit for her first "rear-facing" car seat and I will need to get a forward facing car seat. Having done a search and read through loads of threads on the subject, it would seem that the Britax Elite would be the one to go for. Unfortunately this has now been discontinued, so I was wondering what folks have been using as an alternative ?

I went to Halfrauds today and tried a few. The modern baby seats have wide bases, which do fit over the gap in the "bucket" seat, however the problem seems to be the positioning of the seat belt buckle. It is too far forward, so when the seat is in position, it is able to pivot and is not anchored securely.

Has anyone else had this problem ?

Cheers

Jeremy

My boy has a Maxi Cosi, I think without looking it is a Priori XP, and I have had it in the Z once, had to put thhe seat right back and the seatabelt only just reached round but it was secure. Halfords will test fit it for you anyway - if you can find a staff member trained :headvswal However I never tried it in the rear.
