Seems to be getting worse!

i used to get it but mine was an oil leak and it was the oil burning on the exhaust . still get it from time to time till it gets burned off completley

mine does this and its getting worse, just going outside to have a look at obvious stuff will let you know. Also if you do a search on Fuel/petrol smell theres lots on here.

Most likely culprit is your fuel lines on the top of the engine. I did mine last month. You only need a couple metres of 7-8mm fuel hose and its a fairly easy job. Or you can bling it up with some of smithys' stainless stuff which has the added bonus of removing some of the extra hoses. Ones to check are the little hose behind the fuel filter on the passenger side, then follow them out of the filter on the front and across the engine bay to the fuel regulator into the fuel rail (need to remove the cover). Replace as many as you can reach, including the one under the regulator that goes into the fuel rail.

Hi Yewcheck,

did you ever sort the fume smell? I have the same smell and it really makes my clothes smell when driving the car.

No not really, had the car tuned just before I sold it and it did seem better! but don't really know why, possibly the car was producing better emissions so not as smelly!!
