Right guys I need some help!!!

The Z`s been off the road for 12 months(z32tt) while iv been working on `project remote control lambo doors` Which i have now finished so last weekend i took it to ultimate street car at santapod and it ran perfect no water/oil loss.

On the way home on the Sunday it decided to piss all its water out the overflow it was pretty obvious what it was but when i got it back home i managed to confirm it was the god-dam head gasket!!

So now i gotta take the engine out to do the job and i want to make sure that when iv put it back in it will NEVER have to come out again!!

I will change all the hoses but is there any thin else id may aswell change/upgrade while the engine is out??

cheers guys.

Sorry to heare about the problems.

I'm not going to be much help telling you exactly what else you should change/upgrade but if you need prices let me know.

Best way to approach this is to see what kind of budget you've got available. Then see what you can afford within that budget and remember to keep about 10% in contingency fund as these things always have a way of costing more than you initially think.

Good luck!

Dan

some things that usually get changed when engine is out are the 02 sensors, det sensor loom there are more but cant remeber them

Cheers for the advise guys!!

I dont really have a budget as im in no real rush so it will just spend money on it as and when iv got it I will be changing the sensors and will reroute the det sensor loom to make it easyer to get to in the future.

Has anyone got any idea on injectors??

Whats the best sort of injectors to use for best performance and what else will i need to do other than a re-map??

Sharky. I saw your motor at Santa pod, infact I took some photo's of it,love the doors. Should be a cool runner once you have sorted the motor. Good luck

don't worry about the o2 sensors they can be done in car!

I would remove/bypass the egr system.

Plenum water hose bypass and route directly to the turbos!

Clear out the old casting flashing in the block

Replace the det sensor and associated loom

Get the injectors cleaned and flow tested

Remove the aivs

Remove the prvr

Search is your friend :)

Find the reason for head gasket failure, its unlikely it let go on its own, it more likely it would be becuase the car overheated first.....water pump failure, water hose leak, viscous fan failure ...etc

Invest in an aftermarket water temp gauge.
