Hi,

The missus is on the M25 in the Zed and the windscreen wipers have packed in! Typical that its raining buckets. She says they made a clunk sound and then something snapped and they stopped working. The motors are still going (clunk,clunk!) but the wipers are not working. She's trying to find a safer place to stop before looking at them because visibility is very bad. Does anyone have any suggestions ? it would be much appreciated! Thanks.

Can't find anything in the workshop manual ffs. She needs to get going again as she's working 50miles away. Bloody rain.

I'd put money on the linkage under the windscreen cowls, it's happened to me on my Z and 2 other Nissan's as well!

Theres a couple of metal bars that are attached to each other with a plastic knuckle and one in turn goes to the motor, the clunk is the knuckle breaking and she'l hear the motor still going, only temp quick fix is to remove the cowl ( even without tools will prise off) a piece of string attached to the metal rod, pull it in though the window and do it manually, done it before to get me home. Knuckle can be purchased seperately but is a royal PITA to fit, so easier to buy a new arm with it all ready attached.

Thanks for that smithy. The rain on the M25 has calmed down a bit and she's got to her first customer ok now. Hopefully she'll be able to make it to her other customers ok, and get back later. Its typical, she's only using the Zed because I was stupid enough to fill her diesel up with petrol :wack:(still trying to sort it as well :xxx: ) I've not had any issues with this Zed and then the heater matrix packs up the other day, and the windscreen wipers go today. Can't win with cars at the moment!
