Have you changed the Port settings to match the correct Port number being used, in the Datascan prefences tab ?

Also sometime with usb drivers you need to manually add the driver again going through the device manager, not just run the setup program.

yep it sets up as com 7 I have set the sw to that with no joy, and I hve tried to manually install the drivers again, no joy, comp is happy that it there and working, software doesnt object to the port setting just nothing from the car!!

when I was using cp210x drivers mine would'nt work, I tried cp2101 drivers and it worked, I'm running vista on a new laptop. The setup file is 1.5mb if you cant find the drivers on the net I could send them to you.

Thanks for help so far

Most run fine with the old drivers, but some have had problems, they have just released these new FTDI install files, I would give it a go.

tried them no joy tho, wouldent install it said no compatible hardware detected, thinkit must be a cygnet type!!!

yes cygnal and ftdi are two seperate, incompatible chips. i think blazt are finally using ftdi chips (which are better, particularly drivers).

The other option is to try it on a different Z. Is there anyone local that you could try it on. At least that would narrow it down to the laptop and not the car.
