I usally put in silkolene pro s engine oil in .But ive heard castrol edge is good sumo power use it in there r33 drag car .Also its easier to get hold of than silkolene oil.Any body used it thanks taff.

and i think u will find its just a rename for the castrol rs.

Edge is the new improved RS which loads of people swear by so yes :)

Thanks guys just looked on castrols web site and it recomends edge sport for Z 32 .It aslo says fill 3.4 litres but and 1 extra litre for oil cooler is this right.4.4 litres sounds too much. :cool:

Thats if you completely drained the system including the cooler - you wouldn't normally do that.

They have done an interesting inedpendant review of lots of oils on sxoc!

Edge is not the same as RS.

A few people from the German Z forum have done a back to back comparison between edge and RS and edge ran approx. 10C hotter under mild to high load.

They contacted Castrol about this and Castrol seems to be aware of this and apparently it has to do with Rs containing esters, while edge is not.

for the Zed, Castrol RS is still one of my favourites :D

 

still available (old stock) at some shops or ebay if you look for it.

 

I also have good experience with MPM, Silkolene and Motul 10W50 oils

speak to oipe oils they reckon that the silkolene is one of the best oils for our cars and a lot better than castrol.

There are different sizes of oil cooler.

Plus the oem oil cooler doesn't drain when you change the oil.

Anyway, I bought Silkolene from them for my gearbox and diff and have no complaints.
