Hi,

Anyone else get stuck on the M40 in Warwickshire/Oxon today?

Some bikers had an argument on the motorway near Warwick and one was shot dead!

I was stuck on there for 4.5 hours, from 4.30pm until 9.00 pm tonight! .....I was only travelling about 20 miles home from work as well!.....Glad I wasn't in the 300ZX though!

The M40 won't reopen until about midday on Monday, so I would avoid it around junctions 15 to 10 at all costs!

Cheerz,

Jez.

I wasn't caught in that but it took my wife nearly 2.5 hours to get to work (Studley to Solihull = 15 miles) and all she needed to do was cross the M42. Every conceivable back road is completely grid-locked thanks to this "murder" on the M40.

yep - was going s bound at 16:30 - made a quick exit off at 15 but it stil took me 2 1/2 hours to go round the backroads to junct 12

still better off than that biker though - wtf is happening to this country

regards,

alex

is this anarchic hells angels type bikers that are causing this fuss or just normal guys who are in a Yamaha owners club like this but just had a falling out?

havent heard anything from hells angels for a while but i know that used to be a scary mob. I guess they are all too old and arthritic to ride their choppers around now and had to trade them in for a Hyundai Lantra or something!

I got caught up leaving Warkick Castle yesterday afternoon.....

.....joined at J15 around 3.15, got down the sliproad and spent 45 minutes until being herded off by PC Plod at J14.

The policeman told me that if I followed all the other cars down to J12 all would be ok eventually......

I didn't though - I saw the volume of cars all stationary so I went round the roundabout and back onto the M40 north to J15 again, headed along the A429 towards Stow as far as the A422; then A422 to Banbury. That way was clear as a bell, so I re-joined the M40 at J11. When I did, there was not another car in sight so al that traffic hoping to get to J12 like the policeman said must have still been queueing.... (and I forgot to take my map or sat nav with me :wack: )....

I actually got back home (left at the Handy Cross exit) in little over an hour after leaving the original traffic jam....result!

I did tell the policeman that it may be a good idea to have placed "road closed" signs at the slip road on J15 though, to stop more cars joining from Warwick or the A46. He said "yeah mate - they didn't think of that!" "They??" I replied..."Don't you mean YOU!! "

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Hi,

Well I joined the motorway at junction 11 and although they had closed the motorway at junc 10 there was nothing to stop people joining at 11 and heading headlong into the jam!...As soon as I saw the brake lights of cars ahead, after a few miles, I knew I had made a big mistake!

I was stuck in a similar spot when we had the torrential rain a few weeks ago!

Cheerz,

Jez.
