Ask Big Kim he's the expert on spiders.....LOL

By the way thats a BIG spider !!!

We get its mum and round here, but have to say it is fairly big.

We set the german shepherd on them. She loves to play with them and then eat them.

Bless her.

I always get worried when my cat starts playing with insects. like they might get her from the inside or something. so I have to set them free. Can't kill spiders like that they're too big. Too much of a life for me to be snuffing out.

never kill a spider, they are what keep us from catching all the nasty diseases

Agelenidae. we have one in the club called matilda. Ive rescued her from the sink a few times, her diameter is larget than a pint glass. Large ones can bite and by all accounts is uncomfortable.

Spiders scare me alot, I wish they would stay out the house then there would be no problems and they would'nt get squashed.

Thing is if you put a HOUSE spider outside it will die anyway. The clue is in the name.

You do it no favours by putting it outside.

As for diseases, they catch flies, wasps etc.

Darrell

Look for a mark like an egg timer on its back. lol

Thats a red back and not a black widow, niether will kill you unless you are very young, very old or very sickly anyway.

That one in the glass is a harmless thing, it can bite and might do if you pick it up wrong but its just like a pin prick.

heres where all the spider pics come out.

looks like a wolf spider to me ;)

There are over 360 registered types of wolf spider and who knows how many that aren't, so it could be.

Royal Marines recruit training was moved out to the states during the last Foot and Mouth outbreak (ironic timing). I was supporting one of the training teams out there and a recruit got bit by a black widow. He sh*t himself and went sheet white! turned out it was only a male one though so pretty harmless :)

I heard a relation of the black widow, the f'alse widow' or something has arrived in the UK from the continent and is slowly moving north through the country. Nasty bite, watch out.
