Hi first post and already need help got a 300 with broken box slips in D+R but drives in and out of garage not tried it at any distance

but when its hot slips more than a bloke with a slippy thing :( anyhoo

where is the best place to get a recon or good second hand box from

or what could be wrong with the one in there tried the search thingy

could not find a fix for my problem

Hi, best thing to do is try all the cheap options first like changing the fliud & cleaning the filter which if blocked can cause similar problems, if that doesnt work then possibly indicates the clutch packs are worn which means time for a rebuild or replacement unit, also if your car is a jspec best to buy a aftermarket oil cooler as that is far superior & provides better cooling then stock one which is built in the radiator

 

is your 300zx a tt or na ?? as i have a good low mileage autobox + tc available for a tt can send you pics via email

I had my zeds autobox rebuilt here, They can rebuild to stock or performance. I also had my Trans am autobox done and thats now pushing out 500bhp with no problems.

how much did they charge ?

In truth i cant remember as it was about two years ago but gearbox still going strong with no probs, Will try and dig out the receipts.

Try MJS in Ipswich, they can supply and fit a recon box or if you can get a second hand one from AndyZ they will fit that for you.

Just had mine done by http://vmtp.co.uk/ in the Mildands.

Cost 1500 but with tow in and out and extra cooler as recommended above, ended up at 2000. Its going ok, and i'm happy

Other option was find a used item for 500ish, extra to fit and take a chance
