Just want to hear peoples opinions on changing my Grey Tweed OEM interior to a Blue Seude OEM interior from a 92 model. Is it worth the change, does it look good in a zed???

Featured Replies

Never seen a OEM Seude interior of any colour. Seen a 99spec red and black Alcantara and leather OEM interior. Seen tweed and leather, tweed and tweed, leather and Alcantara, Alcantara and the weird Jazzy patterned Recaro seats and velour in both blue and Grey and all OEM, but never seen Blue Seude.

Got any pictures and are you sure its OEM.

It looks like this, They look greyer then the interior i was thinking of swaping with my tweed interior. It could be that velour material ur talking about always thought it was a seude material. This was taking on a 95 model NA

depends what colour your car is tbh, as to whether it will look right!

Sweet, The car i would get this interior from is a wreck and i still want to go and inspect the condition before i go and buy it. My main concern is that the inside of the car is exposed to the outside elements a little the targas are missing and the seats might be water soaked by the time i can get to the interior. The car has been in the wreckers for around 6 months. Lately there hasnt been much rain so i dont think the seats will be weak if i remove them but could it be??? would the seat be ok to use???

For the Panels there is Tweed, alcantra and Suede.

Pics above are Alcantra, and this is the suede in my slicktop below. The Alcantra is softer with a longer pile and blue tint. The Suede is a much shorter pile, firmer and dark grey.

Suede is by far the nicest stock Interior panel type IMO

I was very interested in one of my mates 97 interior with black seast and 300zx stiched onto the seat. But that interior would be almost impossible to get unless i did a custom job. I think i could probably get all the panels and seats for $300 - $400 but i still need to ask him fiurst and see what he says. My car is a silver matellic colour and thought the upgrade interior might modern it a bit more.

Thats the same as mine and it's not real suede just good quality Alcantara as used in Astons and AMG's. Honest it is. If you remove it you'll see the weave on the back and it wars better than suede.

It may not even be Alcantara as that is a trade name.

It's probably just a form of "suede-ette".

Yes, I know its not genuine Suede, but its not the same material as the Blue velour/alcantra posted above

I agree the blue one above looks like velour even on the doors. Still nicer than the tween don't ya think.

Real Alcantara was made to look like suede without the turning to leather issuse. Loads of veluret these days claiming to be Alcantara.

Yeh, definatly a major improvment over the horrible tweed.

So there are 5 different interior panel trims then :-

Grey Tweed (most common - Series 1 cars)

Blue Tweed (rare option for Series 1 Saphire blue Z32's)

Black Tweed (Later series cars)

Blue Velour (series 2 Jap)

Grey Alcantra (series 2/3 Jap & UK)

Not to sure when the Velour and Alcrantra options are. I've seen the Velour in Jap series 2 cars, and the Suede in Series 2 UK cars

I feel a poll coming on LOL

Mine has the alcantara/suede (whatever it's called) on the panels and leather seats. I'm looking to get the seats retrimmed to alcantara, or at least alcantara down the middle and regular leather on the sides and the headrests, because alcantara seems to be pricey. I have the split on my Audi and I really like it. I think it looks good and the leather wears well where it is rubbed as I get in and out the car and the alcantara is nice and grippy and not as sweaty as leather.

Thanx for all the info guys, yesterday i decided i had to get answers on the Velour interor from the wreck and get the condition/price. When i got there the passanager seat and the side panels that hold the seatbelts were all missing and the seats were very dirty and staned by grease from metal parts throw ontop of them:(, so i decided to not get the interior and leave a professional retrim to the later model interior as my only option atm. Pitty would have updated the inside of my car but what can u do.
