hi im haveing an on going problem with my power steering comeing and going.and iv just been checking wireing and if i disconect the rpm signal wire from the ecu the power steering works perfect no fault what so ever untill i conect the rpm wire back up ! does any one have any idea wat the problem is ? as i kinda want power steering and a rev counter ha ? ? ?

Try disconnecting the solenoid on the rack,could be the problem.

Also if you have a speedo convertor fitted this can cause problems too!

is yours a jap import, does your speedo work ok, going thru same prob even replaced speed sensor, turns out to be dodgy converter

i have the same problem speedo and power steering only works when it wants :(

 

 

Yours will be speed sensor on the gearbox, about a ton from a trader 5 min to fit :duffer:

really is this the only thing it can be? or could it be the speed converter bloody thing doing my nut in :mad:

yehs mines a jap and the speedo works fine and i dont have a converter fitted,its just the rev counter that wont work when the power steering does.

Hi having similar problem, HICAS light on, no power steering, spedo working on and off, just had the rear axle etc. out to replace brake pipes, any suggestions?
