It’s 3am and I’m being kept awake by a comment made by an off duty pair of police women this evening. I was out with my assistant coach and a young lad I am training to become a coach at a local bar. The young lad started chatting up this young girl while my mate and I just got on with having a beer and having a chat while not cramping Liam’s style. Eventually I got involved in a conversation with the 2 girls and Liam.

Liam then mentioned that both where Policewomen to which I asked what station as I know some older policemen and women etc just for idle conversation. She told me she switched from station to station etc, so to continue I thought I would let her know I appreciated her commitment.

“I was thinking of apply…” Didn’t even get to finish the sentence before she interrupted.

“Oh another pathetic, I was going to be a copper asshole” you people make me sick, if you knew what I have to deal with…. At witch point Mr Nice left the pub, went on holiday for good as far as young coppers are concerned.

I have paid my dues, killed, watched friends die and on more than a few occasions helped the coppers out in “situations” until backup arrived. And I get a 20-something slut ridicule, belittle and humiliate me while I am complimenting her and the force.

Well in a nut shell, that’s the last time you inept, useless bunch of crooked back stabbing ****ers get any respect from me unless you earn it 1st. I've never so much as bent; let alone broke a fooking law, so if anything you tossers should be showing us respect not the other way round.

Can you tell I am livid.

Yes, I'm a copper and I have to say I agree with most of what's been posted.

I hope you can see my side of things folks, and thanks for reading my view.

Ade.

Some good advice there Ade and don't take me the wrong way. I have to say that the anti Social attitude seem to be endemic right across society and not just the new recruits to the Police Force. So too is the fact that a percentage of the population have big chips on the shoulders. It's just a worry that some of these people get a Police uniform and they then have power to abuse and that power is what attracts that elliment.

Also Ade I have 2 mates who are coppers. Andy is a bike copper and John is traffic Patrol and they are very normal sound guys and even they say that they started with a sence of wanting to enforce justice, protect the public and lock up crimials and gangsters but bureacracy, political objectives and targets mean that they are just keeping their head down now and working their way to their pensions. Their opinions have had an impact on my own.

However as with your advice I'd say not just with Police officers I always treat everyone i meet with respect and courtesy even if people approach me with a bad attitude. If they are in a bad mood or been rubbed up the wrong way they will react possertively to someone being calm and courtious and generally you get a better outcome. If they are "knobs" with bad manners calm and polite pisses them off more because they want a reaction, but as soon they realise you are not going to loose self control, they generally back off.

We do love a moan on here though and a bit of wise cracking banter.

P.S. like Sara said. There have been times when I've been really gald to see the Police and times when I thought I'd love to strangle those two little dicks and as for making a complaint about an officer i feel it shouldn't be in house and should be done independantly. ie My wife was attacked whilst out waking the dog, fortunately the guy that attacked her either hadn't seen the dog or just thought Great Danes don't bite or something. He got a big suprise when 14.5 stone of pissed off Great Dane gave him a shake and a drag around the field.

When my wife reported this at the Police station. (She was in a real state and it took her years to be able to go out for a walk on her own with the dogs.) the copper said to her "what do you expect, An attractive woman like you with long her shouldn't be out on your own". We complained and had an inspector round. sod all was done about it that copper is still working at the same village station and is still a nob.

But the Lads that helped me on Christmas Day1980 were ace. The snow was well high with freezing fog. I was frozen and had stopped my bike to warm my hands on the Exhaust. They pulled up took me to the services, bought me lunch and then took me back to my bike and followed me right over the tops to Manchester. People are just people, but coppers shouldn't be, they should be proffessionals on or off duty.

Manners cost nothing.

i have a relative that is a copper and let me tell you as soon as he became one we were all beneath him ! They just think they are like the sheriff in all the old western films !

Like me???

.............................The moral of the story is if you see someone being bullied or picked on, get strait over there and get the boot in Quick while you can.

A sound lesson for us all there Mark......
