Can anyone tell me what colour the front fog light wires are.

I want to use the front fog light switch for my rear fog light. To do this I need to splice into the wires for the front fogs.

Obviously I don't have front fogs any more so that isn't a problem but I cant find the wires that must have been disconected.

A photo would be good.

These are the only unconneted wires that I can find at the front.

Would they be the ones I am looking for?

Only thing is they don't seem to get any voltage when I turn the fogs on.

Well I solved the problem. I forced a wire into one of the switched 12v sockets of the front fog relay. Ran it to another relay (probably not neccessary but at least I have a 12v supply) and ran that to th rear fogs.

Job done. The switch that was for the front fogs, which also turns on the side lights, now turns on my rear fogs.

the fog switch shouldn't turn on your side lights

the standard front fog has the side light built in and is fed by a 3 pin connector (as per suffolk's picture)

i would sugest your fog light connector is currently pluged in to your after market side lights (wrongly)

Cheers guys. Havent found a wire looking like that. The photo I showed was all that I could find. They do look like ones I found in a search for front fogs.

I think that the side lights are probably wired up wrong but seem to work OK so will leave alone. Think I have got a bulb out though so will have to get at them somehow to change it. Might investigate then.

At least I have gotten rid of that horrible red switch.

when I switch my fog lights on my side lights come on as well. Mind you no signe of rear fog lights accept for the red bulb in place of half the reversing lights when amber switch on- Only had the car three weeks. Wonder if that's standard fitting on import.

Its one of the ways of doing it in imports, mine has the middle two brake lights disconnected and wired up to a big red switch on the dash. (So when ever i brake the "brake light" warning light, lights up... annoying!)

But back to the point, im sure UK cars did have front fog lights?? and jap cars didnt have rear fog lights as standard thats why they have these daft mods lol. But its better than the "micra style" random red box hung underneath the back bumper!

Nope UK cars have no front Fogs, thats where indicators are, and indicator slot is blanked!

My car is a 1996 imported March this year. Has front fog lights but no rears. But has a nice rocker switch lockated around the side of the main dash which puts front fog on only, or rock back to make the reat fogs come on at the same time, which I mentioned before are red bulbs wired into the reversing light slots. Passed the MOT this way, so must be ok.
