at least yours got it there mine broke down and had to come back on a recovery truck, changed the cas unit and its started phew

mine was running on safety all the time,i then started using optimax and it cured the problem!

have you tried this?jay

You dont need to disconnect the battery to reset the ECU after it has received a detonation alert from the kock sensor, though that would do it! - switching the ignition off will put it back to normal.

If you are sure the car is detonating at high load then the cock sensor is doing its job, makes a bloody change really the things usually just go mouldy and give bad results.

The 'Le-Hir patented bypass-the-smeg-sensor' with the onemegohm resistor maybe would only damage your engine if you are having some untimed explosions in the cylinders.

Check the ECU diag: http://www.ttzd.com/tech/diagnostictech.html

then read: http://www.twinturbo.net/ttnetfaq/FAQpages/safetyboost.html

HTH,

No expert but trying to point you in the right direction mate smile.gif

Terry, Good to see you back on m8...

If the car is detting DO NOT bypass the dett sensor!!! Your car is going into safety boost to protect itself from dettonation - not because of a faulty sensor!!!

Give me a cal if you want wink.gif

Andy
