Went to the Rolling Road today but on the way noticed I was loosing water!

Closer examination revealed small crack in plastic top of radiator drivers side.

Any chance of repairing this or does it mean a new radiator?

Cheers - Dave

IMHO that's a weak spot and I'd renew it regardless of how well it could be repaired. I am sure there are plenty of good second hand N/A radiators on here that one of the traders could get hold of if you didn't want to splash out on a new one.

usually a new rad, no point in bodging up as more than likely let you down at the wrong moment and could end up costing you a lot more in the long run. Kayo rad time. :D

Pricewise I would certainly prefer a good second hand one.....but how can you tell if it's good?

How much is a new one likely to cost? I've looked on Koyo's website and they are saying "R1439 - 90/96 300Z turbo - $549 BUT Sale price $349"

I guess they're in the States so there would be carriage/duty etc to consider. Where can you get one in the UK? Would the Nissan one be cheaper than the Koyo? Is the Turbo different from the N/A (which I have)?

Anyone got a GOOD second hand radiator for a 1995 Series 4 N/A Manual?

Wishfully - Dave

Get in touch with Luke at The Zcentre mate,he did mine at a good price! and they're in the UK! ;)

My rad let go in the same place last week on my way back from Southport - managed to plastic weld the thing and it has been ok up until a new one arrived on Friday - fitted today and all is now superb again!

Cost £129.00 including next day delivery - bargain!

But from where?????????

Can anyone tell me if I need a specific radiator for my 1995 series 4 N/A manual or will any 1989/1999 Z32 be OK, even TT or Auto?

  • Author

I've been phoning/emailing around today to find a replacement radiator.

I have only received one positive reply so far but don't know whether it is the correct rad or not. They've sent a picture and core sizes with a price of £77.72 including vat and uk delivery. (Great price if it's the correct rad!)

I've attached the picture they sent me, can anyone tell me whether it is the correct one for me or not?

(Jap import Z32 1995 series 4 N/A manual 2+2)

EDIT - I've just checked their drawing against my Zed and it certainly LOOKS the same........at that price should I go for it?

They are the same for all years.

Auto rad has gearbox oil cooler built in, Manual rad does not.

NA has different mounting points and pipe locations to the TT...but can be made to fit.

That is confusing because there were no UK N/A's, at least not Z32's anyway. However, if it looks right then it probably is.

Looks like NA rad to me...although not sure why they say they only list it for UK models, since the NA was Jap only.

So I don't make a tit of myself, what is the difference between the TT and N/A?

EDIT - Sorry, don't answer this...I only noticed the last post and have just read the earlier ones that answer the question.

Many thanks for your help, I will buy tomorrow!

Looks like I'm a lucky bunny, mine is certainly the same as the second photo and it also looks the same as the picture supplied.

Is it a fairly straightforward job to replace the radiator or are there sensors and leads etc. that I need to watch out for?

Looks as if this might be one of the simpler jobs to do on the Zed :smash:

Should I change my cambelt and water pump whilst the radiator is out?

I bought them months ago ready for the 60k service which I planned to have done by Ztech when the time comes, but they're a bit tied up according to recent posts so is it a job I should attempt myself?

I'm a bit handy but no expert, and I don't want to start something I might not be able to finish.

Bin it! fit a Koyo,forget it! ;)

Good call....

You might as well if you can do it. Did you get a new belt tensioner and idler pulleys you should change them too, along with the 2 small rubber water hoses that come out from the engine and the vvt springs and O rings too

Sounds like it's becoming a big job, maybe too much for me!

Are all the other items you mention normally included with the 60k service?

I believe the idler pulleys dont come with the 60k service kit but they come with the 120k service kit. Mike Feeney (mjp) in the trader section is the best person to ask

My radiator arrived today and it is exactly what I need. :smash:

It's a real snip at only £77.72 including next day delivery and vat.

It came from Advanced Radiators of Newcastle-upon-Tyne (http://www.adrad.co.uk) and I highly recommend them to others on this site who might require a new radiator. :)

They didn't actually show this rad on their site so it might be best to phone them for a quote on 0191-267-3312.

Cheers - Dave

Looks good and a really attractive price!

I had a red break in the same place on my old NA, went for a cheap second hand one and that broke too.

Much more sensible to go for a new replacement or and upgraded one.

Glad to hear that you will have it sorted soon...

Now after reading this thread i am confused, mine is a 1993 UK TT and my rad gave up the ghost yesterday, it has plastic caps at the sides and cap in same place as TT rad but there is no oil cooler pipes to rad, I believe it may have had a uprated oil cooler for auto box as i have a reciept from the PO suggesting that, would this be right or have i got some oil cooling missing?

if i get a TT rad will i have 2 holes on rad i cant use?

Thanks

just read your post again. I'm sure that the UK auto tt already had the Auto box cooler added
