Might i suggest that perhaps the z driver was either not racing him, there has been many a time when ive been taking a quick drive through town and looked in my rear veiw mirror to see a saxo/ nova full of baseball caps cornering on two wheels to keep up and when i let them overtake, to prevent them stopping the fumes getting out of my exhaust, they think they've beat me! And to think a few years ago i was one of those!

If I remember corectly, Z turbos are not meant to whistle. If he could here them whistle then maybe the Z was shagged, hence the reason he beat it.

That MD guy on that forum talks shit, he say the Zed has a turbo that spools up first then a second one kicks in higher up the rev range. Doesn't he know Zed turbos spool up at the same time!!!

ive seen that video and that vette nukes him bigstyle, i mean hell that dsm has run 12.6 or so ont he 1/4 and when they go first time he gets slaughtered, and the second time when he got ahead i think the vette ballsed up its pull of and then comes slamming past him. And oh the sound.

DSM's are pretty cool cabbys for performace on a budget, just this lot ont hat thread seem clueless.

Definately the corvette is a damn fine car, and does waste the dsm, but you saw the race ( the third when they race properly? not on the normal caiiageway, when they first come across him, or the 2nd time from the lights, but the third time, when they go from standing start in the dark), the dsm does reasonably well i think, hehehe, the lingenfelter manifold, exhaust and cams etc really make the v8 sound so much better! its too fucking cool, i think that particular dsm, however, would do reasonably well against a standard tt dont you think? and that *is* what he's trying to say, even if he is a tit and he probably aint anywhere near the stadard of the dsm in the vid either! hehehe

But as you say, the sound, oh the sound, its too fucking ace! I dont think you're likely to hear a sound *so* much better! granted there will be better, but its not *that* much better! hehehe

I dont like American cars, but I love their V8's - There is a company outside London who will import a Holden HSV GTS and supercharge it for 50K, this car has a Callaway Corvette Vee8 and is the most fun you can have with out drugs and prostitutes apaarently.

 

Thats where my lottery win would go - coz its got 4 doors and goes 200mph.

hmmmm, saw a road test report in a motoring mag a while back, put the blown HSV against a Brabus S Class,

 

both maxed out at around the 170 mph mark with test gear, but the Holden was showing a WILDLY optimistic 200 on the clock!!!!!

 

agree, still the mutts tho

 

took an AMG E55 out yesterday, that was mildly interesting too!
