Just out of interest, would my 300zx protest massivly if i ran it on regular unleaded?

I have a 92 JDM TT auto... and unfortunatly i have to use her for my commute to work next week until my run about is ready. Its basically 40 miles on the motorway and a mile of normal roads at each end.

 

Will it be okay on regular, or is it better safe than sorry and use V power.

 

The car has no mods as such (filter, exhaust etc etc)

jdm are set to run on 100ron , if you want to run it on regular you will need to chip it, andy P's chips are set up on regular.

I have a cheap (ish) source of V power, 100.9 isnt bad in this day and age!!

ive found the bp stuff is not as boost friendly as the v-power ;)

If its a stock ECU then it won't be mapped to the edge of performance. If you take it easy without any heavy boost normal UL will be fine. I can't remember the exact figures but fuel loses RON points very quickly once in the forecourt tanks/your fuel tank, so unless you use a forecourt with REGULAR deliveries and once its in your car, its approaching normal UL rapidly anyway...

Zed's will often run fine on regular unleaded, on stock boost....but you are at risk of Detonation which will kill your engine and if your not used to listening to it then its a risk.

 

Optimax is safer, provides more power and gives better fuel economy.

Ultimate is 97 Ron (same as super unleaded).

 

There are a 7x BP stations that sell the 102 ron fuel but its something like £2.40 a litre and is designed for Track days and dyno runs.

mines standard boost import run on regular fuel for 2 years not one issue with it, however im a rather subtle diver does not go over 4k revs. If its temporary then im sure it will be fine if you take it steady

Not really no, if i need the power at roundabouts etc i use it but apart from that im very cautious lol.

 

Yup 2 years on normal fuel and never an issue so you should be fine if its temporary

Hmm, well its only for a few days in all truth its only going to save me about £4 in juice!

 

The laguna will most certainly not be running on super!

 

So out of my two cars one will have a 3.0 DOHC twin turbo charged and twin intercooled V6 with variable valvetiming and Distributor less ignition.

And the other will be a 2.0 8v with less power than a late afternoon murray mint induced fart hehe
