Hey all

 

I have the same cutting out problem so ill give the idle control valve a clean in the morning. But before i do my idle sits just arund the 1k mark. I have an aem and 555's does this require my idle to be different? or shoul i be 700 like any other manual?

Nope AEM and 555's make no difference, it should be 700-800rpm

 

Clean the Idle control valve, but also check the TPS voltage is correct (around 0.42-0.44 v

Ive managed to get three of the biolts off and have found oil in the hose coming in from the battery side?? is that normal? or is it worth chasing the hose back and cleaning all the way?

Base Idle is 750 +/- 50

since you have an AEM, those values from the service manual don't apply anymore, since they are meant for cars with a stock ECU

 

AEM has a programmable idle control and it could be the person that has tuned your ECU has set the idle to be at 1000 rpm.

First check all the settings of the AEM, before you start disconnecting and changing things, because you could make things worse if you do.
