suppose in this day and age to survive you have to be devious

yep, its become a dog eat dog world. As im typing this, one of those no win no fee injury claim ads has come one, you also got those to thank for peoples greed too. But if someone went into the back of me i would want what i could get out of them, insurence company want to give you next to fook all, they wouldnt give you that if they didnt have to. Insurence dont take into account the hours of loving resturation and care you have put into your pride and joy, or the money and time you have put into the car and in most cases your not going to be able to replace what you just lost with the money insurence will pay out, and thats after fighting to high heaven with them for months and months, i know through experience. Then you have the inconvenience of it all.

Sorry to here this Lisa but glad you and Dave are ok. I had the same done to me in one of my Zeds in 2002 so know what it's like. Keep ya chin up

im glad you and dave are ok lisa im sad about the car though are you and dave still gonna meet up in august and will you be in daves zed???

Cheers mate, ye I am sure we will be at the August meet probably in Daves project z...

Here are some horrible sickening pics...

I did actually see him coming down on us rather quick thinking he aint got much braking room ! so i booted it but he still caught us, he reckons he was doing 20mph on impact but i think more like 30 + as i was accelerating away from him ! what you guys think? the boot floor is slightly bent to.

:(:( Sh*t, really sorry to see guys :( and glad your ok

I hate to say it but that will almost certaintly be written off by your insurance co :(

gutted for you but judging by the pics i would say its a gonna , hope your aches and pains go away soon ( hot baths and radox ) why cant people watch what they are doing its a shame to see your zed damaged but metal can be fixed people cant

Sorry to hear your bad news, I know you love that zed. A bit of advice for you, when the insurance estimate the value and then make you an offer, dont accept their first offer they always try to under cut their losses by offering a low amount hopeing your so tired of waiting and want it all cleared up that you will accept it. In my experience they always increase their offer if you fight. But they will not pay out what it was worth to you. Glad your both OK.

Know just how you feel....same thing happend to me in my Scorpio Cosworth after only four weeks.... but at the edd of the day a car is not worth a life so just think ... I walked away uninjured...claim on their insurance, it was a rear end shunt so it should be no blame for you so you keep your No Claim Discount, screw them for whiplash etc and go and buy another one....

We'll all be looking out for your replacemnt !

Its pretty crap to note most accidents in our beloved zed's nowadays envoke an insurance company to write the car off.

Cheers mate, ye that car is my world and they wont be getting off lightly, hoping i can get it back, but will have to see, too good to go to nothing

yeah, sorry to hear and see the pics . glad your ok . but on a positive note . keep the z cos it is repairable . might cost a bit though . but well worth it . and to be honest he was doing well over the 30 mph mark . hope his car was totaled and not repairable . total :xxx: :xxx: :xxx: :xxx:

and did you give him one or two of these :mac1: :mac1:

Lisa, sorry to hear your car got wrecked :( main thing is it's a bit of tin that can be bashed back into shape quite easily ;)

As for claiming, do it and dont think twice about it. I'll give you my oersonal experiance as refrence.

2 yrs ago (approx) I was travelling around an island, ready to exit and the car to my right decided to smash straight into the side of me, there was no reason for this just plain lack of observations on her part.

She immediately started all the gesticulation buisness and we pulled over. I got a mouthfull of verbal from her "what the hell do you think you're doing" etc etc and "i've been traveling this way for 15 yrs"etc etc we exchanged details and left it at that.

She did let something slip though, that at the time I didnt think was important "I've only just got the car back from the last crash" was what she said to me.

next thing i know is she's claiming for whiplash and everything, seen 2 'doctors' who backed up her claim so i'm screwed.

I was being totally honest in the situation, myself, my 18yo son was not injured in the crash, as was her 7yo in her passenger seat ;) she was the only injured party. (fooking liar)

So her claim for injuries and lost time from work etc etc was £4.5k, my claim in response was £0 because i was not injured and I lost a small amount of time from work, but not worth the hassle of claiming it back.

In the end after 18 months it went 50/50, we both lost a years NCB and she recieved 50% of her £4.5k claim. Not bad for somebody who seems to do it on a regular basis huh?

My advice? Claim. No second thoughts. PPL out there WILL stitch you up, dont be honest and loose out like I did.

HTH

Robert.
