Hi. Can anyone tell me how to remove the long vent that runs along the dash under the windscreen plz ?

I don't want to try to force it as I have a nasty habbit of breaking things,

Hi mate

Its got Metal clips along its length that hold it under the foam. I used a flat blade screw driver and gently tried to pop bits out. Start from the middle there are two pieces left and right. I can email you the page from the workshop manual if you like.

I used a flat blade screwdriver, carefully run along between the vent and the foam until you find the spring clips (can't remember how many there are - getting old!!) and then gently push into the clip and lever upwards, at the same time. I started mine from the drivers end and slowly worked my way along - the vent comprises two sections which overlap in the middle which is an awkward bit. Also watch out for the sensor at the passenger end, couple of thin wires which need disconnecting. One of those "five minute jobs" :D but best to just take your time, cheers,

Steve

Thanks for that.

Sensors   (oh dear). What are they for then ?

Something else for me to break

They's the "sun load" sensor which feeds into the aircon. Helps maintain even temp when going from shady to bright light (eg going into / coming out of shadow - or tunnel).
