is it crank speed or cam speed (cam being 50% slower)

crank speed it gets louder as the revs build sounds a bit like spowky dokes on a bike wheel

just had a service 6 weeks ago by thor racin could it be tapets

am i right in believing the noise developed after you cleaned throttle bodies

300's dont have tappets as there is no rockers, they use hydraulic lifters, it is most probably a stuck lifter causing the raquet.

try a small cup of atf fluid in the engine leave running for 1/2 an hour then replace oil and filter with new items, normally works.

how many cans of carb cleaner did you use to clean the throttles :x:

yeah it did but the reason i cleaned them was because the revs kept on going up and down they average around 1000rpm and go up to 2k thats on idle but after i cleaned them the noise came do you still have the nose piece znutt

i used 1 whole can and cleaned with a clean toothbrush the noise sounds like its comin from there area

yep

Its all very well telling him to run his engine for half an hour with ATF in the oil to unstick a hydraulic tappet, but if it is something else more serious he has just added a load more damage, maybe.

If its something more serious the damage is already done fella ;)

your problem could well be the water temp/ecu sender connector plug(one with the yellow cap) give the terminals a good clean to remove any verdigis.Hope this works for ya.

maybe this maybe that, the whole fun of guess work my friend

if its a topend noise as described then i doubt very much any severe damage is present! other than a common sticky lifter! what do i know
