Good for you trish! And you know it's genuine.....-ish you know what I mean! mines reading 135k. Good to hear she's going well. Let me know if you hear of any autoboxes going cheap :D

Good call. My new UK spec has 120k on the clock and going strong as well :) Thought I had a dodgy gearbox recently but it was just a loose/off place exhaust hanger so happy days.

Original turbos?

Why not, providing their treated right, i.e. engine oil changed regularly and no silly decatting, they should do a good mileage. I know its totally different but I had a turbo diesel citroen xantia which I took from 69K to 228K and sold it still going strong on the original turbo. The new owner (a lady) has taken it up to 286K and still going well on the original turbo.

Oh I know that totally as I am always on the US forum remember??? There are guys over there running 170k on original turbos.

Was just hoping they were the original tubs. :)

i just clicked over 140,000 in my UK TT the other day but didnt notice the 13,999 to 14,000 mile, damn!

new gearbox and remachined turbos along while ago but it is going great even with decat!

May i just ask whats so silly about decating? A cat only hides the problem of worn Turbo oil seals. Turbo cars pre 90's were running with no cats with no problems unless the turbos oil seal was worn and then they would smoke.

3 Way Catalytic converter's only hide the problem by creating extra back pressure. It does not mean your turbos are in good condition. Ask yourself this why do we have catalysts fitted to our cars now? its not to protect turbos is it? Removing a : catalytic converter does not damage the Engine or Turbos. It allows the Engine to breathe better by having a less restrictive Exhaust sytem;)

I am also Very pleased for you Tulip! You've beaten my 53 Octavia by 3000 miles;)

What that man said re turbos and Decatting.
