Hey all

 

Got my car back today suspension, brakes, steering and various other bits all fixed. Drives so much better and goes like a train.

 

But

 

Its very smoky. Driving along its fine low revs fine give but it some welly and cloud of smoke out of the back whitish grey. Pull up at lights and for a few seconds its smoky enough to get a bit through the drivers window and then fine until you really hoof it again. If I have it on the drive and rev it it will get to the top of the revs and puff out some smoke looks whitish blue so Im guessing its oil.

 

The worst seem to be on gear chnage so on and then off the gas and on hoofing it.

 

The car has divorced wategates, decat, aem, 555, wiseco pistons.

start saving for turbo recon :confused:

mines the same, got new tubs, pcv valves, o2 sensors going on it so hopefully one of those will stop it. Been diagnosed as oil from tubby seal failure due to the de-cat :(

rear tub seal im afraid :cry: .

 

my zed has just had recon tubs and that had another rear seal failure :headvswal .

 

hope to have her back soon :confused: .

 

what ever u do dont use MIDLAND (SHITLAND)TURBOS :mac1: .

If you car is decatted, get the cats back in it hopefully cure the prob or at the very least stop it getting any worse.

Any ideas on costs? is it full on bend over type stuff? Is it cheaper to get some second hand turbos? Can you get them off without the engine coming out? from underneath maybe?

turbo dynamics will recon a stock tub for about £200 each iirc.dont bother with s/h tubs as its not worth the hassle if they are fitted and you then find out they are no good.make sure you get new oil lines fitted at the same time and make sure the water feeds and banjos are clear or its goodbye new tubs.

The guy I bought the car off told me it had hybrid Stage 1 turbos Any idea what the difference is between these and standard?

Im guessing theres no point in trying to change pcv valves etc???

 

I would try that first then give the car a good run and see if its helped. pretty cheap to do so you wont really lose anything if it dont work, you would kick yourself if you get your tubs overhauled then find out their ok.

If you are unsure of whats causing a problem always try the easiest and cheapest fixes first.

Hey all

 

Ran it into Simpsoons and they reckon there was just too much oil in the engine and that as it had been sat around a while it just needs to have a good regular spanking and it will all come right!

 

Hope their right! Hey ho time will tell. Bloody love this car though!! Interior is almost complete now have relaced anything broken, or crappy and just need to put in some rear seat belts and wait for a decent set of leather setas and door cards and were done inside. Although if I find one I might replace the dash as the area around the windscreen vent has bubbled up.

 

Then next year get the front end tidied up... Hopefully someone will reverse into me before then!!

They did say that they found that all the Z's they de-catted smoked on the drivers side???

 

Maybe this get sfixed by having a single exit?
