Hi, wonder if anyone can help me? Been having a strange problem lately ever since upgrading my 1.0mm boost jets to 0.8 ones... My Z is running hybrid Turbo's based on HKS 2530's so gives more airflow at 9psi than stock turbo's would and also running and Andy P stage 2 chip on stock injectors with a Blitz SUS airfilter...

The problem i'm getting is a bit intermittent.. When I bury my foot in the carpet, the boost rises on my aftermarket guage to 1Bar and sometime the whole car will just cut out a bit like a fuel cut type scenario.. I've also tried nailing it also from 4000Rpm thinking it might of been a det sensor problem but it will still sometimes cut out... I'm not getting det by the way but just tried this as another check...

Has my aftermarket chip got a fuel cut safety feature we're if it detects too much boost it cuts out and if so we're can I get one that will eliminate this problem..

Just to add when the Z does cut out you can still drive normally again without any problems! Guess what i'm asking is I wanna chip that will let me run with the 0.8mm jets without cutting out! Or if you guys have also has this problem whats the solution to correct it without going back to the 1.0mm jets?? Could it also maybe an airfilter problem through the vented nose panel???

Any help would be much appreciated!!! Thanks guys!

you're trying to run 1bar on bigger turbo's while using standard injectors?

get the 0.8,s out asap mate,i had the same probs and went back to 1.0mm and its cured,if you check them .8,s the hole size is not accruate enough and some tips vary down to .7 which is far to restrictive to "bleed" properly

hey there

i too had this problem, but with no boost jets. i've got a hks induction kit and the filter was very old and breaking up on hard throttle and and sticking to the maf sensor!!!!!!!

fitted a new filter, cleaned the maf sensor and BINGO!! no problems at all.

hope this helps

Having the same problem, its been intermittent but more frequent of late...Im gonna change the fuel filter for new and hope that will sort it,Ill post with results after the weekend-fingers crossed.

Are you 100% sure you are not getting det?

If you are (and assuming the knock sensor picks up on this then it will switch your ECU on to the det map. This will/should p1ss fuel into the engine so it is running rich and should stop the detonation.

My feeling is that you have an intermittent electrical problem somewhere, so diagnosis with a ConZult would be first step, followed by normal process of elimination. My first point of call would be the AFM.

Also, I would go back to the 1.0mm jets, in order to confirm whether that has caused the problem or it's coincidence. Assuming the problem goes away then I would upgrade to a boost controller to get a more accurate control in that area.

Thanks very much for your help everyone but after inspecting the pipes tonight found out that instead of 1.00mm jets being in there ontop of the 0.8mm ones the original jets we're 0.8mm!!! So 2x jets in each pipe!! I know it shouldn't effect boost seeing as both holes are the same size but like znut says they can vary although they looked the same!! The thing obviously got to a point where it was boosting soo much!! Also had a slight cut in my vaccume pipe leading to the boost sensor so replaced that and now I get an accurate boost reading and no engine stalling when pulling up at a junction! Thanks very much again guys! ;)
