Forum Feedback

OK, a bit of feedback, I've been looking at the forum for a few months now, i joned before i got my Zed hopeing to find one on the forum, however the cars for sale are not split by region so i gave up. It might be nice to have a region specific cars for sale section to help people looking for their first Zed, like me, they would probably rather buy from a enthusiastic owner than a garage, in he end i bought a freshly imported example.

I've bee thinking about going for the full membership so that i can pm some peeps local to me and find out what garages they use, i've looked in a few places and still can't find the cost of membership only different ways to pay. This is prolly just be being thick but if somebody could point me in the right direction i'd be grateful. However, that aside a forum i belonged to for another marque had a 'recommended servicing and specialists' by region, very handy when you're looking for somebody to work on your car who is knowledgeable and experienced.

and welcome to the site.... Good idea abot splitting for sale cars into regions, but sometimes to travel a bit for a better zed is worth it :D (if you know what I mean)

Suppose you could put up a wanted thread and state what area you are in - maybe someone in that area who has a zed will get in touch!

Good luck with the Zed hunt

With regards to garages and traders in areas - maybe putting a sticky thread into each region where members can pop info on garages they recommend

The thing to remember about the Zed is it was never sold here in big numbers and infact I recall and insurance survay from several years back stated there was less than 700 uk cars left and some 1500 Jap imports.

So if you wish to buy a good one your going to have to be prepared to do the milage to get the right motor or Import a freash car.

The situation with regard recomended specialists is a little complicated due to the trader policy of the forum, but if you were to post a thread and ask who is the best and nearest to you. Then I'm sure you'll get plenty of responce. I'll recomend C & S Wood in Manchester 019420892568 as I'm sure will many more, though there are others + Andy Duff is a mobile 300zx specialist. I don't know if He would be happy for me to give his number out on a public forum, but if you were a member I could have PM'd it to you.

Have got to admit you have picked the right username!

Firstly if you are not willing to search the for sale section for the right car then you are not going to find the right car!

Secondly it might be an idea to pay club membership and then slag off the forum layout?

everyone is entitled to give their 5p when it comes to the forum layout... hence the section name 'forum feedback'

:D :D

In my opinion no, they haven't contributed to the costs of the forum and why should they be able to slate it off?

I'd have to agree with that, and why should the for sale section be put into sections? if you want the right car, then your travel for it. nuff said. :o

drove 200miles each way to get mine once upon a time

Fair play to ya mate, if I had my heart set on a car, I wouldnt care where I had to go for it. ;)

precisely ;)

pfft... thats pratically local ;) My first zed was 200 miles each way to collect, but the slicktop was 400miles each way and into another country

Woudn't be much point in Splitting up Cars for sale IMO, there is only about a handfull for sale on the forum at anyone time anyway and because of their rareity you should expect to have to travel.

took me 6 months, a p[lane ticket, a 300 mile drive a ferry ticket and a trip across the the sea to get mine, worth every cent

yeah travel for a zed - agree

still its a pretty welcoming thread though dont you think for someone who is thinking of becoming a subscribed member and adding a bit of feedback in the 'forum feedback' section - even though it may not work.

at least he's provided more feedback than other members :D

welcome, you may have to travel to get the zed you want, otherwise you may end up just settling for one you may not think is perfect

Hiya

we have split the forum up into sections where it was necessary to make it easy for people in different locations to talk to people in their area

however not a lot of zeds are sold and people generally want to advertise them to the nation, some people have traveled 100's of miles to buy their first second and third zeds.

welcome to the forum, the subscription is well worth it, :)

Bidded/won her via auction, shipped her direct from Japan, waited 3months & still travelled to Southampton to pick her up................:)

BTW welcome mate :)

Christ what a slating

TopLess if you read me original post you will see that i am joining and was merely looking for the cost of doing so. I agree totally that for the right Z you should be prepared to travel, it was merely an idea that a region by region for sale section would at least help you start localy and then widen your search. nothing to do with being lazy, just comon sense i'd have said.

I certainly didn't slag off the forum, the topic says 'feedback' and so i left some.

Thanks for your welcome (some of you) as i said in my post i did in fact find a nice freshly imported example that was completely unmolested that i can start tweaking, I actually posted a wanted ad on the site previously and thanked a few peeps for their help.

I've already fitted a Blizt induction kit and Mongoose cat back exhaust together with an Alpine Multi Media dvd/divx centre. Having to sell one of my other cars to pay for the rest of the stuff to do. When we finally get some nice weather i'll take some pics but until then i've only got the ones taken at the importers showroom i bought it from here: -

Right well despite my slating and the rude welcome - by some to a prospective new member - i'm off to send my £20, see if i can't earn a bit more respect.

thanks chaps

You'l find that you have to take the rough with the smooth on here mate, but welcome to the fold, Im sure you will enjoy it on here.

Kim ;)

For Sale section is 'almost' perfect IMHO. It just needs splitting between Z items for sale and general items for sale.

Information about club membership 'could' be somewhat more visable.

hello and welcome, ignore any slatings, i always do!

nice that someone new has braved their opinions its what being part of a community allows us to do.

Enjoy

Welcome to the mad house buddy. See you have already met some of the locals.

As for the for sale/wanted section. Perhaps a selling sheet could be set up ala ebay so that there are certain things you need to put in like location, postage etc. This might keep some of the posts down on the thread and stop it getting cluttered.

I also think it would be good to be able to remove your thread once the item has been sold/found to stop the area getting cluttered with stuff no longer available. It's very frustrating sometimes to find an item you want only to find that it has been sold.
