Parked up infront of the beach, went for a walk with the Mrs and returned to find three 10y/o's hovering round the Zed, anyway I just walk up flash the alarm and go to get in when one of them asks me what it is, So I tell him to which he replys "you should of got a Skyline" :headvswal

While i was re-building mine i had some guy ask me if it was a toyota!!! a fooking toyota !!

I think a lot of people stare at the Z in bewilderment due to the rarity of them and people not knowing what they are exactly. I've had people stop and look at the car and then stare at the lower part of the bonnet obviously wondering what this 'Z' thing actually is. Then a kind of reassuring nod at an angle as they still don't know what to make of it, but with a sense of approval, before walking off.

 

I bet they went straight home and googled 'Z Car' lol.

It's always nice to get a compliment about your car, but otherwise I couldn't care if they like it or not!

I've owned various ZXs (280,z31,z32) over the years because I like their looks and how they drive and it's also a bonus to have something different to the rest of the herd!

what is it though about skylines, over here i get fed up of listening to people say the skyline was nissans first real supercar, that it was nisssans car of the 90s, etc even some skyline owners consider the z32 a bit of a dinasor, and 2nd class car to theirs when i go to a meet people will always rave over the skylines and supras and ignore the poor z. i do quite like the r32gtr

have a 300zx tt which i adore,but as people say,wen someone asks what it is and u say a 300ZX they look at u with a vacant expression and go WHATS THAT THEN :headvswal ,fook that annoys,s me :D .

 

as a few of u no my mrs owns a SKYLINE R33 GTS N/A,but i get to drive it most of the time though :hyper: .

 

and i must admit everyone nows what it is,from a young kid to old folk :bow: .

 

the looks u get and the comments make u blush HONEST.

when im out in the zed i get every knob and dick trying it on,gets very boring in the end :o .

Problem is the insurance companys hate them, well they do when your 25 with 3 points and 1 year NCB anyway :)

 

Skylines are over rated saloon cars for people who carn't drive. Had a R33 GTR for 6 weeks and would never have another. I'd rather have a MR2 which is far more involving and entertaining to drive even if they are for Girls, Panzies and hairdressers.

 

You're having a laugh, right?? Over rated saloon car?? You must have had a bad Gtr if that's what you think. As for the can't drive bit, well I'm baffled by that, if I couldn't drive, mine would have been in a ditch years ago.

 

It's true that the youth of today are more impressed with the Imprezza and Evo brigade, but surely you didn't buy your cars to impress kids?? Yes it's nice to get attention, but as touched upon earlier in the posts, isn't it more rewarding when mature people admire your car for what it really is?

 

I'm not one for bragging about the cars I own or the ones I have owned, but you cannot compare the Skyline and the Zed, they are fantastic cars in their own right.

Funny stories people!Being a Young dude i kinda fall into the category your talking about!i take my Zed to meets all the time but i get all the attention!Soley as nobody knows what the f**K im driving!All i do is pop the bonnet and they see the 3000cc Twin Turbo n there all dying for it!

 

This will be the Best story youll ever hear! My Old car (Modified Vaux Vectra) is now sitting on the drive as i attempt to sell her and then i will park my Zed up beside her and all my little brothers mates will be like is that your new car... Yes i reply and they will all say I prefer the Vectra as they have no idea about the 300z!they have neva heard of it!Once i show them a video or 2 of it they are all like that is soo cool!!i then get the punk chav in his corsa thinkin that i have like a 1ltr engine or something wanting to race me!I just yell out the window 3ltr Twin Turbo and they all become puny n pathetic!Stupid bloody Chavs!!

 

Well enough rambling just adding my insight in to the fact that nobody knows what a 300zx is in the younger Generation!!
