Went to cromer last night (seaside)

Parked up infront of the beach, went for a walk with the Mrs and returned to find three 10y/o's hovering round the Zed, anyway I just walk up flash the alarm and go to get in when one of them asks me what it is, So I tell him to which he replys "you should of got a Skyline" :headvswal

Lol thats as bad as the time when i was at the lights and a guy had his young lad with him, who was asking his dad what all the cars where and when it came to my car the boy said whats that car Dad, to which his Dad replied "I think its a Skyline" :headvswal I did snigger to myself

I got some little shite shout across the road .....

 

him - 'what is that....'

Me - 'nissan 300zx'

him - 'I thought so... its too shit to be a skyline

What annoys me also is generaly i get waved at by Skyline drivers, but you get the odd one in a Baseball cap who obviously thinks his car is better and doesnt wave

I find that when I park my 300ZX in the public car park at work, it's men in their 50's/60's who give it a good look over!

 

when the zx was new those 50/60 year olds were in their 'youth' probably know alot more about the car than the youth today.

Whatever happend to that film that one of the peeps off here their car was in, called Dolphins or somthing, has that hit the cutting room floor ?

Its the same old senario, hardly ever seen on the roads and not enough publicity about these cars anymore, none of the youngsters know what they are. All they read about is Skylines, Scoobys etc so thats all they know about, to them the Skylines are the be all and end all. Sort of makes me proud to know no one knows what it is i feel unique and not 1 of the sheep.

its worse when you get kids trying to compare it to a Impreza....all the media hype have put the bloody thing on a pedestal for anyone who knows sod all about cars !

 

I watched a TV prog about a year back where people were asked to match the car to the owner. There was a Bmw X5, Merc S-class, Porsche boxter, Impreza and some regular stuff like golf, volvo....etc

 

There was this girl in her late teens who when guessing the owner for the Impreza, selected this armani suited guy because she said he looked the Richest one there so had to own the impreza LOL

yeah. and now they cant get rid of them :rofl: . you only have to look in the autotrader, theres pages and pages of them, quite a few skylines. but how many zeds ???. you would be lucky to see half a dozen for sale. i personally do not like imprezas at all, but out of the skyline range i only like the r34. still would have the zed over any of them regardless of what anyone says.

i had a couple of little chavs come up to me while i was sat in traffic in town the other week and asked me "does it have a dump valve", my response "yeah its got two" as too which they replied "make it do it then"

I have only had one person have anything to say with regards to critisism about my zed. That was at last years JAE from the MKIII supras stand. I parked my car on their stand and whilst I was stood away from it he walked up and said who parked that fookin thing on here? I turned and said me why you got a problem (as at the time I was a member) He made light of the situation and said he was joking. TWAT.

Apart from that I have only had the WOW! factor. Lucky me I spose? :D

Nah, i let em wonder about what a real car sounds like. They would die of shock, they are only used to hearing 1.1 saxos with sound boxes to "faithfully reproduce that turbo charged sound" and a homebase bucket for an exhaust!

It's like my wifes cousins relating a story from when they were at Gerades School in Near Dublin. They'd been asked about pet names their parents gave them. So when it came the then little boy he replied. "My mother says we're real little bast*rds".

 

Skylines are over rated saloon cars for people who carn't drive. Had a R33 GTR for 6 weeks and would never have another. I'd rather have a MR2 which is far more involving and entertaining to drive even if they are for Girls, Panzies and hairdressers.

Like somone else said tho thats only because thats one of the only cars they hear about these days.
