Driving home from a friends house 5am then woke up in intensive care! Hows my luck i thought.... Happy after seeing the car i just had some minor head injurys and two broken legs mainly. No one else was hurt so it was all a happy ending. Happened near Beacon hill in Woodhouse, a known crossroads black spot im guessing as my memory was gone.

Thanks Steve

christ sakes, you got out of that with broken bones? You should of been pushing up the daisies.

now see how can you want to get some heap of american poo after the zed kept you together. By the looks of the car you certainly wernt doing 70.

Fukk a duck! Don't think I've ever seen one so badly smashed before! You were lucky with the injuries you got! Looks like a very hard hit.

By the looks of the car you certainly wernt doing 70.

If it was a head on type collision he would have been goign a damn sight less than 70 for that ammount of damage to happen! Thats a 50mph crash that.

Really glad your ok fella, speedy recovery! :duffer:

 O.M.G! can't believe you got out of that alive - as said many times before obviously not your time and someone watching over you ;) Gutted about your car for ya and sad loss of another lovely Zed :( But at least not the sad loss another Zedder :) Cars can be replaced people can't.

Hope you recover quickly and get back in another Zed soon

All the best

Jamez

Strewth - that is a bit of a mess. Glad to hear that everyone is still alive.

That is a mess, can only say thank god it wasnt as serious as it looks, if i saw that car in a breakers my first thought would of been someone must of died in that car, but thank god no one did. It just goes to show how we take our own lives in our hands everytime we get behind the wheel. In a way its a testiment to the strength and safety aspect built into these cars

Thanks for all the kind words, most people since the crash at the end of may said i should be brown bread, so i might just put that lottery on. The car prob looks more of a mess as two fire engines came to cut me out, i was told the car came to rest between a tree and a farmers hedge or fence so i come out the boot i think?

Not to sure how the insurance will work out, i realised the MOT was out by 17 days prior to the RTA, but i have a traders policy that only mentions a valid driving licence?? Funny thing is im a MOT tester aswell!

Would like to get a SWB Zed at some stage, but i do need to test my bottle too prior, might touch cloth at 70mph? Plus my daughter hates going in fast cars, so suggests i just use my boring laguna!

Again thanks for the kind words, and as said its only a car, Cheers Steve

i think for your own sake, you cant let this put you off driving another fast car, otherwise you will be scared the rest of your life. ive seen this happen with a few people. this is just my opinion though. ive only been involved in one major smash, which was not my fault. i walked away with a bruise and a lump on my shoulder. both cars involved were total write offs. i was back in the seat of a car the very next day, plus, i drive past the place it happened on a daily basis which is also an accident blackspot. it does not bother me in the slightest, but thats just the way i am.

You should have put the lottery on as soon as you could and while your luck lasted.

Good to see you are still thinking fast cars :D

 .... Glad to hear your Ok (ish) after seeing your car your one lucky guy

My thoughts too......

........hope you have a speedy recovery mate!

Richard :smw:

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

As all have said Glad your still with us and repairable which is more than can be said for the car. Which has done it's job and crumpled in the right places so you didn't crumple in the wrong places.

Get well soon and remember anything from here on in is a bonus.

realy sorry my friend. Glad your okay (ish!)

what is interesting though is how well the zed faired in the crash, all this time iv been thinking they would fold up like a tin can!

couldnt believe you got out of that alive mate.

reet mess that is.

take care mate.

You are sooo soooo lucky to get out of that in one piece mate :)

The car ain't too bad, I reckon it will polish out ;)

To be honest i can only remember the early night before, about 7:45 with my mates. Not a clue what happened, i would imagine the car i hit was crossing a notorius crossroads at the top of the hill as i was climbing it at the time, theres always flowers there as it goes. Glad i come out in one piece and the other bloke walked out ok. Thinking of getting some sort of muscle car now and sticking to the pod etc?

Thanks steve

Jesus you are 1 lucky guy!!

One of the most common collisions is overtaking across the face of a junction, and the car pulling out of the junction ahead to your right (turning left towards you) usually only looks right before pulling out, then bang - head on!

Sounds like that junction needs central bollards either side of it to prevent overtaking there. Be good if you could pay back your good luck by pushing the council into doing something before someone else is killed there.

Not much to add really. Glad you are OK mate. Bummer about the car. What will they do about insurance if you have no recollection of the event?

christ mate glad your ok... shame about the zed, as long as your ok .....

ps is the engine for sale .. he he sorry bud only kiddin

get well soon

Can only echo previous comments mate, glad you got out of it alive.

At the end of the day, it's just a car, it can be replaced if necessary.

If i were in your shoes, i'd be off down the volvo dearlership... ;)

As above!

One lucky chap!! I've been to many accidents where the cars sustained far less damage than yours, and unfortunately the occupants didn't walk away!

Have a speedy recovery mate.

Ade.
