'Couple of years' no claims? Good luck! LOL

Welcome to forum. The right car is out there if you're patient. As to what they are like to drive, you need to sample one for yourself. :)

mines a black manual 300zx tt so your not being over eager at all!!

as long as your not too bothered about looking at imports

but tbh colour should be the last thing on your mind, get a good car, buggar the colour, no point going for a black one and it spending 99% of the time off road because its knackered, remember the majority of these cars are approx 16 years old, i wanted a red one but the black one was the soundest of the bunch so i went for that.

Go for a good sound engine and car not a nice colour, you can always eventually change the colour!!

Cheers :D

Good advice on the colour tbh, cars a car really!!

and i got a quote of £900 and i am 19, which isnt too bad!!

but i am saving up till may next year which is when i get my 3rd year and i will almost be 21

Dont worry about your no claims unless you want fully comp (Mine was 2.6k pa but thats a J-Spec).

I waited for three months until I found one I liked (TT Manual) but it was well worth it.

Look for 300zx buying guides on this forum, its very handy

900 quid!!!!!!!!!!! thats a cracking quote is that fully comp?? all you young zed owners your making me feel old lol!!

wsnuk, i will probably go fully comp

Im sure your not old fairladyzgirl! ;) No that was only Third party, but then again, fully comp would be a better option, ill just wait and see what the 3 year mark brings!!

Big step up from my current car :D 1.4i Rover 99' lol

i found the extra year did not bring that many rewards, id look for cars in the mean time and if a good example crops up it might be worth investing early.

So its definatly worth buying one and storing it, could always work on it until i can afford to drive it lol, what about when i reach 21? surely it will come down a bit then?

only if its a good one some of the other guys might disagree with me but good ones are few and far between these days and if your wanting to make your own individual changes gives you some more time. I bought mine and didnt use it for 6 months as the exterior was in a terrible state, but the mechanics were sound, so it was a case of cough up and do bits at a time, everyone is diff though

oooo, might have to invest like you said then!! i have a small drive, everyone else can park elsewhere haha, what spec is yours?

What's your budget first of all? Please don't saying something silly like £2k. lol

well mine was 3k and all its ever needed was 2 new tyres and the temp sensor fiddling with in 2 years so you could get a good one with 5k

£5k is a good budget. You should be able to pick up a very good Z for that price. Speak to Kirbz on here, he should be able to source what you were looking for.

When I bought mine, it was one of the 3 choices I wanted. Mine's also a Manual TT, pearl white, silver and black were my choices iirc.

Bumed - K Series 1.4i 103ps or 83ps? I moved up from that engine :) You will noticed a massive difference, I had an audi 2.0t as a company wagon and that was nothing compared to the Z :)

Who has quoted you 900? I presume thats for an UK model?

  • Author

103ps, i think its quite nippy :D lol the fastest car i have driven is a tuned twin turbo Rx7 and it was fantastic, this is the first car i have owned, soon as i got it the HG went though :(

Yeah UK Model i did it on moneysupermarket and it was Bell i think who gave that price.

Hello and welcome!

My dad was checking out a quote on how much it would be for me to drive next year...

A 17 year old, just passed his test (still on R plates)

Obviously no-noclaims bonus

1990 j-spec twin turbo manual

veilside kit

sound system

air filter

exhaust

18'' chrome rims

+ the sound system

£2000 :D im so paying it to drive the Z :D
