my mate was driving his zed last night noticed it was dry on oil he topped it up with some oil then drove 5 mile home he then brought some oil today but a different grade both suitable for turbo cars he then drove it and all of a sudden lost all pressure oil started leaking but only from the oil cooler area but dont thinks its the cooller then thick black and grey smoke from exhausts

is this the turbos broken and a oil leak at the same time or is this a set of things that discribe something more please help

 

P.S MY REBUILD IS ALMOST FINISHED YEAH :nana2:

who knows, get it looked at, leaking from the cooler? uk cars have metal pipework running from the cooler and can corode, get the nose panel off and have a look.

 

as for smoke turbo's/rings/valves

 

compression test will give you an idea of engine condition, then go from there

 

normally when you run dry on oil the lifters and bearings fail, before anything else especially the upper part of the engine being furthest away from the oil pump

URGENT... Please can someone help me, please!!! I'm trying to locate/contact a guy called 'Martyn' who is has disappeared along with my beautiful ZX (TT). I haven't had any contact with him since Jan. 07. He used to run a garage in LINCOLN (in the north of England) and also in HORSHAM.
