Driving back up the M40 on my way home this evening I approached what I thought was a 350z.....

Except it had S K Y L I N E in chrome letters on it's boot lid

Anyone any ideas ?

It's an infiniti coupe. I quite like them - like a big 350Z.

It's not really a Skyline - they've just borrowed the name.

Hi Craig

Yes now you mention it it did look slightly bigger than a 350z....

I was only joshing the bloke :)

Was behind one the other day and they do look the same as a 350z untill you get close as they are a little wider and have a pitbull like stance. As I went past though it looked very very nice inside, very posh.

Hi,

They are real Skylines, from a range of saloons and coupes...Just badged as Infiniti's in the USA!

yes, soon if this article is anything to go by

The Stagea is NOT a Skyline though, just the line-topping Autech version had ATTESSA AWD and an RB26 motor.

Folks should realise that this IS the Skyline of today, the GT-R is no longer any part of the skyline range. In fact the skyline sedan is pretty low down in the rankings, as you can see here http://www.nissan.co.jp/EN/LINEUP/lineup_07.html, it is only one step above a bluebird!

Another interesting point is that the 350z is based on the skyline coupe, not the other way round, the main difference being the heavy strengthening done to the 350z.

Hi all

Take a look at the Autotrader web site front page They say it is a new Skyline and there's some film of iy. They reckon it can outperform a Porche 911 ! $.2 litre V8 engine twin turbo.... love to put my right foot down on that !

The car on autotrader is not a skyline, its the new GTR. Autotrader have incorrectly named it the new skyline, as Nissan have seperated the Skyline and GTR as two different models now.

whatever it is, it looks like every other modern coupe or "sports car" on the road nowadays  every new car looks the same now :( get some stoned college grads back into those R&D depts.

the skyline always was only a sedan though. Absorbed from the prince range in the 60's, along with the gloria i think, it just became quicker and quicker through nissan wanting to go racing!

It was japans "S class" in the 60's!
