I am not sure if I have a wharped disk or a suspension problem.

When I brake at low speed I get a vibration through the steering wheel and the car pulls to the left.

If I brake hard at higher speeds the vibration is much worse and the car dosen't seem to want to stop.

I have a ful set of R33 brembo callipers, slotted and dimpled dosks and yellow stuff pads.

I have adjustable upper arms and tein street coilovers. When we fitted the teins the upper arms seemed to have some play in them.

Do I need to change the disks and pads or is it likely to be a suspension problem?

Could be the compliance bushes on the lower suspension....they are filled with a liquid (Type) rubber or silicone and if this ruptures it cause that vibration problem....I'm having mine replaced with Poly or nylon bushed on Wednesday

Braking vibration and lack of stopping power tends to point towards a warped disc, but first i would check to make sure that the pads fit the caliper housings correctly as most braking vibrations are caused by the pad vibrating inside the holder against the disc (if that makes sense?). If the pads turn out to fit well then i'd go along the warped disc path and change the discs

Also just thinking about it, could also be a possible sticky caliper. When checking the pads look for un even pad wear and make sure that the pistons go back into the caliper fully

Thanks guys. Is there an easy way to test for a wharped disk?

It is obviously the second thing to do after checking the pads.

just another thing make sure the collars on the upper arms are very tight, as when the get a little loose you get abit o movement in the shaft.

tension rod bushes are probably knackered, and you should really have adjustable rose jointed ones if you have adjustabel upper arms.

Is the lack of braking force a result of you easing off the pedal to limit the vibrations?

warped discs can be checked by a garage by measuring the runout, should cost around £20

Cheers for the replies guys.

Will get on the case of checking the disks.

Think I might go for a bush upgrade as well.

TTTam has a set for sale at the mo. Would these be suitable.

I know they are difficult to fit but will get someone else to that.

What other stuff would be good to replace at the same time.

to be honest fella, if your running adjustable upper arms, you need to get a solid bush type tension rod, without soild bearings at the rods, you could end up knackering the bearings in the upper arms. If you just do the bushes anyway think you'll need a press mate.
