i asked for advice from braniacs vince ;)

I think they generally say that it's around 60mph. It will change depending on the car though and I guess that for a Z TT it may be a bit higher than that.

I was told when in 5th and revs are on about 3 - thats when its most economical

who knows

did 400 miles on just over a full tank doing 85 constant on the motorway. I was quite pleased with that :)

I got 30 mpg out of my lwb tt doing a constant 75 mph on the m'way for 200 miles just to see what it could do. boring as hell tho'.

i agree :D :nana2:

dont use cruise control i found it uses more juice. Your lucky it is a TT they have better gearing for motorway work so that helps

Not from empty mate........

............. the capacity of a LWB ZX is at least 60 litres, there is quite a large reserve once the light comes on ;)

Richard :D

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

mines an swb

I could get 32mpg with cruise control set at 80mph on long journeys with my old TT LWB

p.s SWB & LWB tanks are same size, and will hold 72 litres...you shouild be able to easily get £60+ in there. If you can only get £50 in then fuel gauge is incorrect and its not as empty as it says it is.

oh, dint know that, nice one i havent been running it as low as i thought.

32 mpg sweet!!!

I did 500 motorway miles this weekend and spent £130 on fuel! :(

That was involving quite a few 4th gear blasts up to 140mph ish LOL

Still, it's twice as good as I get round town :mac1:

My car aint standard though ;)

Park round the corner and phone the AA. You'll get ther for next to nothing. I get around 200 miles on 50 quids worth round town or on the motorway in my SWB TT.

Darrell

what does that doo?

what he said

Acetone will work as a kind of octane booster. While not actually part of the combustion of the fuel, at the chemical level it helps break the bonds of the petrol thus making the fuel 'easier' to burn. This results in a more complete vaporisation and the more complete vaporisation means less wasted fuel hence the increased efficiency.

:D

I read the acetone thing was a waste of time, not to mention the un-known long term effects.......but it's all opinions....

and yip the tank holds 72 ltrs @ 95.9p per lts = £69.05.......I think I'm going to start filling up on chip pan oil or something......it is costing too much.......

Make sure before you go that the 02 sensors and exhaust sensors are all working properly - to make sure you are not over fuelling.
